The Golden Eagle is one of Australia's newest features, a restricted 1500m race for four-year-old's that's run under set-weight conditions at Rosehill.
Originally a $7.5 million dollar race, The Golden Eagle has received two prizemoney increases in the last year, with an $8 million dollar announcement last November soon trumped by the $10 million total delivered in June.
At $4 with Betr, Light Infantry heads the betting for the 2022 Golden Eagle.

Golden Eagle 2022 Best Bet - Gypsy Goddess
It's an impossible race to assess with such a big field for a Rosehill 1500m contest, where there's likely to be hard luck stories everywhere in a line-up where every runner has a case.
A galloper that hasn't been knocked around by a big spring is Gypsy Goddess, with the Queensland Oaks winner on a sole hit-run-mission in The Golden Eagle.
The blinkers go on the daughter of Tarzino and after an autumn (and early winter) of bad barriers, she now finally draws well for William Pike.
David Vandyke has an excellent first-up strike rate and with his stable star, who would've dominated the fillies in autumn on firmer ground, this is a clear set play.
Golden Eagle 2022 Next Best Bet - Mr Mozart
I couldn't entertain any of the Golden Eagle runners at a single figure quote, given how competitive this $10 million dollar feature is.
That said, from a better gate and with the best Sydney lead-up runs to be peaking here third-up from a big grand final yard, Mr Mozart would be marked shorter.
After a fighting performance first-up, this entire was five weeks between runs ahead of the Silver Eagle, where he was clearly a run short and brought no second-up form.
Under the circumstances, his run was as good as any in that key lead-up event and while it looks a horror draw. there's no guarantees in this feature.
Golden Eagle 2022 Value Bet - Pinstriped
This Victorian does seem forgotten, a gelding that should've remained unbeaten at start four in the Australian Guineas before contesting the All-Star Mile.
That luckless effort saw him start as a $10 chance against the likes of Zaaki and I'm Thunderstruck, but he was clearly at the end of his prep in that attempt.
Although he hasn't won this time in, Pinstriped has been building well and arrives off sixth in the Toorak, where he recorded good late splits.
He was only a length off I Wish I Win (third fav) there, running a faster last 200m than that more fancied rival, with the track pattern here obviously crucial.
