The Cox Plate is arguably Australia's best race and is one of Australia's three premier spring races. This $5 million major draws both local and international stars and some of this year's runners will go on to compete in the 2023 Melbourne Cup at Flemington on November 7th.

Leading the way in the betting is Hong Kong raider Romantic Warrior, who's amassed over £8m in prize money over the past three years in his homeland. Romantic Warrior has been drawn in stall seven, with leading Australian hope, Might And Power Stakes winner Alligator Blood drawn perfectly in stall five.

Aidan O'Brien sends former Breeders' Cup winner, Victoria Road to Australia for the first time this weekend and Blake Shinn's mount has also landed a kind draw in stall six. My Oberon and Zaaki, both formerly trained in the UK, have been drawn in stalls four and 12 respectively.

Melbourne Cup hero, Gold Trip will have his final prep run before the defence of his crown on Saturday and Ciaron Maher & David Eustace will have been pleased with his draw in stall seven. Maher and Eustace will also be represented by King Colorado, with Zac Purton riding Fangirl for Chris Waller.

Waller will also run the New Zealand-bred Militarize, as Ben, Will & JD Hayes team up with Mr Brightside. Pinstriped and Duais also feature in the final Cox Plate field.
