With previous feature triumphs in Hobart, Sydney and Adelaide, Explosive Jack is aiming for an incredible fourth Derby win this Saturday.

John Allen will once again partner up with him from barrier six, the perfect gate for the Derby King.

Runner-up in the SA Derby to him was Let's Karaka Deel who is priced an $8 chance while Senor Toba ran well in the Rough Habit Plate, rated the second chance in the market at $4.80.

Criminal Defence won the Rough Habit Plate, and is still rated a $23 chance while second in that race was Kukeracha who is now at $14.

Queensland Derby 2021 Best Bet - Explosive Jack

It is near impossible to knock this colt other than the price on offer, seeing as he has already won three Derbies in Australia and now looking for a fourth.

He was dominant when wide the entire journey in the SA Derby and beating rival Let's Karaka Deel fair and square, so it is hard to see the the latter turning the tables.

From barrier six, we are going to see a similar ride from John Allen, however he is highly unlikely to be caught in the three-wide line, hopefully extending his turn-of-foot over the final 200m.

Queensland Derby 2021 Next Best Bet - Let's Karaka Deel

If it's a case of one run too many for the favourite, I do feel that this is the next most progressive horse in the race who is drawn to get the suck run behind him, following Jack wherever he goes.

This is the third Derby he has contested, finishing just off the place getters in the VRC Derby in the sprint as well as his last start run in the SA Derby.

If he has taken the necessary improvement, Let's Karaka Deel s going to prove a force to be reckoned with in the Queensland Derby, drawing kinder than he did in Adelaide.

Queensland Derby 2021 Value Bet - Fortified

This gelding was too good for them two back in much weaker grade, but an impressive win all the same with the blinkers on for the first time there.

He then went up in trip and put away an 'ok' field in good manner, held-up for clear galloping room on the inside before bursting through and lapping up the trip at Ipswich.

We can only imagine that 2400m is only going to suit him more, with the main issue being the wide gate, but if he finds cover, he is going to run a much bigger race than what the market expects.
