Both of the two most recent winners of this valuable handicap had placed in the previous year's renewal. Flegmatik was narrowly touched off by Our Power here 12 months ago and Dan Skelton's nine-year-old returns on the back of his third victory around Kempton in January.
Al Dancer will be accompanied by five-pound claimer Dylan Johnston, as Sam Thomas' 11-year-old bids to defy top weight. Paul Nicholls could be represented by Il Ridoto and Solo, with Nicky Henderson's Tweet Skirt also likely to take up her entry.

Having ended his novice campaign with two heavy ground victories at Exeter and Uttoxeter, BLACKJACK MAGIC (10/1) proved his versatility on his reappearance in the Badger Beers. Anthony Honeyball's nine-year-old handed quick ground well at Wincanton, comfortably beating several future winners off a mark of 132.
Blackjack Magic has been backed into favoritism on his two subsequent starts. As Ascot, Blackjack Magic jumped the last alongside Victtorino, but pecked on landing and drifted back to fourth. Again at Sandown last time out, Blackjack Magic was still to be asked for an effort before a mistake at the second-last saw him shuffled back to fifth.
With Rex Dingle riding Chris Gordon's Lord Baddesley, Honeyball has called upon a three-time winner of this contest, Sam Twiston-Davies to partner with Blackjack Magic. I'd be very surprised if he went off at a double-figure price.
