Our 40 To Follow series features 40 National Hunt horses who look set for successful campaigns in 2021/22. Three names from that list are running at Newton Abbot and the Curragh on Sunday, so we're going to assess their chances.

Tracker Alert - Sunday 10th October

One of the best novice hurdlers in Britain last season, BRAVEMANSGAME makes his first start over fences on Sunday. Paul Nicholls said in a recent interview that he's schooled brilliantly over fences at home and this two-mile-five-furlong trip seems ideal.

The Big Breakaway, who placed twice in Grade One novice company last season, lines up in opposition. As does the classy Fusil Raffles. Yet, the bookies can't see past Bravemansgame and I'm expecting him to make a winning chase debut.

I included BENAUD in my 40 To Follow series as he looks a fantastic juvenile hurdles prospect. Whether he's got enough class of experience to carry 9-4 in a flat handicap as competitive as this, I'm not so sure.

I'll be taking a watching brief on Sunday, as I've backed a 12/1 shot in this year's Irish Cesarewitch, and hope that Joseph O'Brien points Benaud at a hurdle at some point in the very near future.

The Changing Man

The Tizzards and owners, Susan and John Waterford splashed out £135k when they purchased THE CHANGING MAN. By a top sire in Walk In The Park, and the first foal out of Bitofapuzzle, who won a Listed Bumper and a Grade One hurdle during her career with Harry Fry.

This looks to be an extremely competitive bumper. The bookies don't even think The Changing Man is the Tizzard's best chance, with Could Talkaboutit sitting ahead of him in the market. As with Benaud, I'll probably sit back and watch on Sunday, in the hope that Brendan Powell's mount can run well on his first start under rules.
