Our 40 To Follow series features 40 National Hunt horses who look set for successful campaigns in 2021/22. Six of the 12 tracker horses who've run so far this season have won, and four 40 To Follow horses are running across Britain and Ireland on Saturday.

Tracker Alert - Saturday 30th October

Sizable Sam

I've been looking forward to seeing SIZABLE SAM jump a fence throughout the summer and I'll finally get that chance in the opener at Ascot on Saturday.

Jeremy Scott's burley six-year-old should take to chasing like a duck to water and any rain in the build-up to the race would be welcome. He does, however, have several classy contenders sitting ahead of him in the betting, including Kid Commando, Nassalam, Sam Barton and Solo, who features in my ITV Racing Tips for Saturday.

I'm hoping Sizable Sam will give a very good account of himself and Scott should be able to find an easier assignment for his second start over fences.

Mighty Potter

Gordon Elliott said during his pre-season stable tour that he was really looking forward to starting MIGHTY POTTER out over hurdles. Jack Kennedy's mount ran just once in a bumper last season, scooting clear to win a very modest contest at Punchestown by five lengths.

Elliott usually farms the novice contests at this meeting and, after saddling three winners at Down Royal on Friday, I'd be surprised if Mighty Potter's price didn't shrink significantly before the off tomorrow.

Proschema

I've been hoping to see PROSCHEMA stepped up to three miles, as I think 24 furlongs will be the making of this talented horse. I knew it was only a matter of time before Dan Skelton pushed his six-year-old up in trip. What I wasn't expecting was for Proschema to make his first start over this distance against Paisley Park and Thomas Darby in a Grade Two.

I'm not sure Skelton truly believes this horse will win a Grade Two, not at this stage in his journey anyway. This placing tells me that connections are trying to protect Proschema's handicap mark, hopefully with the Pertemps Final in mind.

If a market for that handicap at the Cheltenham Festival was open now, I would definitely back Proschema, but I won't be backing him on Saturday.

Galvin

Galvin2:50pm Down Royal Ladbrokes Champion ChaseGET 4/1 HERE

Following his excellent reappearance victory under a penalty in the Irish Daily Star, it was only fair for GALVIN to be given a crack at the Ladbrokes Champion Chase.

Gordon Elliott won this race with The Storyteller last season and, along with Galvin, he throws Delta Work into the mix. Only the tiny obstacles of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, Minella Indo and King George winner, Frodon stand in their way.

I'm hoping Galvin doesn't win on Saturday. Not because I don't think he's a Grade One-quality chaser, but if he were to win it would practically rule out a tilt at the Grand National - a race I've already backed him to win at 25/1.

Off his current mark of 159, Galvin would still be allotted a competitive weight at Aintree. A win on Sunday, though, would push Galvin's mark up into Gold Cup territory and top-weights haven't got a great record in the National. If Davy Russell's mount ran on well to finish a ten-length third on Saturday, I'd be very pleased.
