Race 1 - Caspian Caviar Gold Cup Tips

Al Dancer has risen to the head of the betting in recent days, jumping ahead of Master Tommytucker. Windsor Avenue and last year's fourth, Cepage have also come in for support, while Paddy Power Gold Cup winner, Coole Cody will attempt to seal a historic double.

Here's our guide to the 2020 Caspian Caviar Gold Cup, including the latest odds, some key trends and our each-way selection.

This isn't a particularly strong Grade Two, but I think HURRICANE HARVEY is the one to side with. Fergal O'Brien's six-year-old stayed strong to deny Emitom on his chasing debut at Uttoxeter, before finishing second of three in the Rising Stars Novices' Hurdle at Wincanton.

Paddy Brennan's mount was giving nine pounds to Ga Law, who was much better suited by good ground around at Wincanton track which suits speedier types. This former point-to-pointer hasn't finished outside the top three in any of his nine starts under rules, winning over both hurdles and fences. I'm hopeful this step up in trip may even bring about further improvement.

Race 3 - Bristol Novices' Hurdle Tips

Ashtown Lad looked a cut above handicap level when claiming his second win on the bounce at Uttoxeter, and looks a worthy favourite. Danny Kirwan made all to break his duck in a strong race at Ascot the last day, and he should relish this step up in trip.

That being said, all of the runners in this grueling novices' hurdle look tightly-matched, and I'm more inclined to take an each-way punt on PATS FANCY, for the Stayers' Hurdle-winning combo of Adam Wedge and Rebecca Curtis.

Jamie Codd rode this Oscar gelding three times in point-to-points, staying on to finish fourth twice and second once. Pats Fancy was a 12/1 shot on his hurdles debut at Ffos Las last month. The early pace wasn't quick, but Sean Bowen's mount travelled powerfully on the front end and jumped well throughout. The two market leaders loomed up on his shoulder two-out, but Pats Fancy found plenty when pressured and stayed on to win by three lengths.

I was really impressed with his jumping at Ffos Las. That can be a very testing track for young horses, especially when the ground was as heavy as it was, so to see him hit the line so strongly gives me plenty of hope that Pat's Fancy will improve again as he's stepped up to three miles.

Any Gordon Elliott raider has to be respected, but Glorious Zoff was beaten as the 4/11 favourite on his British debut at Sedgefield, despite Kevin Brogan taking seven-pounds off his back. He will need to improve to challenge MONMIRAL, who successfully gave six-pounds to a far inferior field when making a winning stable debut at Exeter.

I highlighted Monmiral as a horse to follow with the 2021 Triumph Hurdle in mind at the start of the season, so I was pleased to see him make a winning start to life in England. Paul Nicholls has won this Grade Two in two of the last four seasons, and Monmiral should be strong enough to hand his trainer another win.

Race 5 - International Hurdle Tips

Goshen will make his long-awaited reappearance in this Grade Two on Saturday. Gary Moore's star juvenile from last year has a strong field to fend off, including two seasonal Grade Two winners and the top three from last year's renewal.

Race 6 - bet365 Handicap Chase Tips

While former Grimthorpe winner, Chidswell appeals off his low weight, I'm tempted to take an each-way gamble on SINGLEFARMPAYMENT collecting his first victory in a handicap chase.

During his time with Tom George, Singlefarmpayment lost by a short-head in the 2017 Ultima Handicap Chase, placed in six other high-profile handicaps at Cheltenham, and finished eighth in the 2019 Grand National. A move to Henry Oliver's yard came about in the summer and Oliver's recruit ran pretty well on his stable debut, placing fourth in a competitive Veterans' Handicap at Sandown, where Adrian Heskin's saddle slipped in the closing stages.

Singlefarmpayment has never won first time out, so he's entitled to come on for that outing. The ten-year-old makes his first start at Doncaster off the lowest mark he's ever carried into a handicap chase, and he could be really competitive with just 11-3 to shoulder.

Race 7 - Mares' Handicap Hurdle Tips

Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle winner, Indefatigable will give a stack of weight to several dangerously weighted rivals in this handicap, and I think MOLLY OLLYS WISHES can take advantage of her lowly weight.

Dan Skelton's mare was well-backed for a handicap at Hereford the last day, having looked dangerous before running into traffic problems behind The White Mouse at Wincanton. Despite being anchored with top weight, Molly Olly Wishes secured a comfortable victory, running up to an RPR of 132.

With Harry Skelton opting to ride Aggy With It, William Marshall gets a chance and his seven-pound claimer will leave Molly Ollys Wishes carrying just 9-12. She's a strong stayer over this trip, and boasts winning form around left-handed tracks. 8/1 looks a cracking each-way price.
