Newbury stages their biggest card of the flat season on Saturday, with the Group One Lockinge Stakes headlining proceedings. ITV Racing viewers will enjoy four races from Newbury and three live from Newmarket, where the Listed Denford Stakes tops the billing.

Race 1 - Carnarvon Stakes Tips

EHRAZ was only beaten two lengths behind the classy Noble Truth on debut last year, before thrashing a modest field to win his maiden at Ascot by four lengths. Richard Hannon's youngster then finished last of the five in a high-quality renewal of the Acomb Stakes, where he was very slowly away and couldn't pick up over seven furlongs.

On his reappearance in the Commonwealth Cup Trial at Ascot, Ehraz finished third behind Go Bears Go and Hierarchy, who stayed on up the rail to claim second. Jim Crowley was quick to give up the ghost that day, nursing Ehraz home once Go Bears Go had flown the nest. There's plenty more to come from this speedy son of Showcasing.

Race 2 - Fairway Stakes Tips

The market usually gets this Listed race spot on, but I don't fancy backing Ottoman Empire on the back of a solitary runner-up finish. I'd rather side with ZAIN SARINDA, who went into the Blue Riband Trial at Epsom on the back of two solid all-weather wins.

Tom Clover's colt was only beaten half-a-length in that Listed race, which was some effort considering he hung down the camber of the track for most of the final two furlongs. Jack Mitchell, who showed plenty of strength and skill to keep Zain Sarinda in contention that day, should have a much easier time of things on the Rowley Mile. Clover looks to have a nice prospect on his books.

Race 3 - Al Rayyan Stakes Tips

This really is a cracking renewal of the Al Rayyan. Two Group One winners feature in the field, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see either Eshaada or Scope carry a penalty to victory. Foxes Tales remains open to progress over this trip, while neither Ilaraab nor Outbox can be overlooked lightly.

I think the value bet could be WITHOUT A FIGHT, who finished second to Al Aasy on his reappearance over course-and-distance last season. Andrea Atzeni's mount won the Godolphin Stakes last September and was only beaten a head by Hukum in a Group Two out in Meydan. He appeals most to me in a wide-open contest.

Race 4 - TRU7 Handicap Tips

Haymaker2:25pm Newmarket TRU7 Handicap (Class 2) 6fGET 10/3 HERE

HAYMAKER went straight to the front on his first start over seven furlongs here at Newmarket on 1000 Guineas day. Hughie Morrison's charge burst into a four-length lead coming out of the dip and held on to deny the charging North Lincoln in the closing stages.

Although he clung on to win, the worst part of Haymaker's performance was certainly the final furlong. I'm not surprised to see Morrison drop his three-year-old back down in trip and Harry Davies' claimer should give Haymaker an excellent chance to follow up.

Race 5 - London Gold Cup Tips

Red Vineyard E/W2:45pm Newbury London Gold Cup Handicap (Class 2) 1m2fGET 17/2 HERE

18+ only. Gamble responsibly. Ts and Cs apply

Horses sitting in the bottom half of the weights have an excellent record in this handicap, while being drawn in a double-figure stall has proven to be a huge negative. Wineglass Bay holds appeal, but I'm going to take an each-way punt on last time out winner, RED VINEYARD.

Tom Marquand's mount ran keen for much of that race at Sandown, pulling his way to the front with two furlongs to travel. Red Vineyard responded to pressure well, and comfortably held several talented rivals at arm's length on the run to the line.

The third from that race won at Newmarket on Thursday and the second, Al Qareem won at York on Friday. The handicapper only upped Red Vineyard's mark by five pounds for that win, which could look extremely lenient come the end of Saturday's London Gold Cup.

Race 6 - Birketts LLP Handicap Tips

Quintillus E/W3:00pm Newmarket Birketts LLP Handicap (Class 2) 7fGET 6/1 HERE

18+ only. Gamble responsibly. Ts and Cs apply

A decent case can be made for a handful of the entrants in this high-quality handicap, but I'm going to put my faith in Charlie Appleby and back the returning QUINTILLUS.

After an excellent third in the Britannia at Royal Ascot, Quintillus escaped just in time after being boxed in on the rail to justify odds-on favourite at Newmarket back in August. James Doyle's mount has run just once since then, staying on after a terrible start to finish eighth in a Listed race out in Meydan. Quintillus' prominent running style will really suit the Rowley Mile and he could be open to plenty of progress over the coming season.
