ITV Racing Tips - Wednesday 14th April

Race 1 - bet365 Handicap Tips

Although he was tried over seven furlongs and even a mile at two and three, all three of STONE CIRCLE'S victories have come over six furlongs. Michael Bell's charge ended last season with a handicap victory at Ascot, making the most of a feather weight to win by a nose.

Stone Circle was beaten just a length in a seven-furlong handicap here on the Rowley Mile last season. William Buick's mount was rated 90 that day, so there's no reason to suggest he can't be competitive here off 87, over what seems to be his best trip.

Race 2 - Silver Trophy Handicap Chase Tips

Coole Cody2:05pm Cheltenham Silver Trophy Handicap Chase (Grade 2) 2m4½fGET 5/1 HERE

It's hard to knock the chances of COOLE CODY, who won the BetVictor Gold Cup here at Cheltenham earlier in the season, and placed in the Paddy Power Plate at the Festival here on his latest outing.

Evan Williams' ten-year-old ran a stormer that day, finishing behind two Graded horses in The Shunter and Farclas, and a multiple big-race winner in Top Notch. Coole Cody will run off the same mark today, and we know that the track, trip and ground will be ideal for him.

Race 3 - European Free Handicap Tips

Naval Crown2:25pm Newmarket bet365 European Free Handicap (Listed Race) 7fGET 7/4 HERE

NAVAL CROWN caused a big upset on his last start out in Meydan, making all to beat hot-favourite and stablemate, Master Of The Seas. Mikael Barzalona set some comfortably fractions out in front, and many expected the favourite to pick Naval Crown up once he found open air. Yet, Barzalona always looked comfortable he had the race won, and even kicked clear again as Master Of The Seas attempted to close.

I expect William Buick to employ similar tactics here, turning this seven-furlong contest into a real test of stamina. Front-runners can be hard to peg back on the Rowley Mile, and Naval Crown brings the best form to the table. Could this be the ideal stepping stone to a tilt at the 2000 Guineas?

Race 4 - Kingston Stud Handicap Hurdle Tips

HERE COMES MCCOY comes into this on the back of a taking victory over Quinta Do Mar at Market Rasen. Olly Murphy's six-year-old was giving his rival seven pounds that day, but picked up the favourite in the final furlong and was going away on the run to the line.

Aidan Coleman's mount seemed to relish good ground that day, and he'll be running off the same mark on Wednesday. Here Comes McCoy won over this distance on softer ground at Uttoxeter earlier in the season, and still remains ahead of the handicapper.

Race 5 - Earl Of Sefton Stakes Tips

San Donato3:00pm Newmarket bet365 Earl Of Sefton Stakes (Group 3) 1m1fGET 6/1 HERE

Global Giant ran out an excellent winner of the Magnolia Stakes at Kempton when last seen, and John Gosden's six-year-old will be hard to beat. However, I'm going to take the market leader on with SAN DONATO, who I think is yet to reach his full potential.

On his reappearance last year, San Donato powered home to finish second to Mohaather in the Summer Mile. Varian decided to step his charge up to ten furlongs on his final start at Ayr, and San Donato was the last to come off the bridle. Sadly, Andrea Atzeni's mount couldn't pick up late on, and was passed by Addeybb and Lord Glitters.

Finishing just behind two horses who've won Group One races since is still an excellent effort, especially considering it was his first start over that trip. Dropping back a furlong could be perfect, and San Donato has gone well fresh in the past.

Race 6 - Nell Gwyn Stakes Tips

Love Is You3:35pm Newmarket Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes (Group 3) 7fGET 11/4 HERE
New customers only. 18+ T&Cs and wagering requirements apply.

LOVE IS YOU is a horse I'm keen to follow this season, and I fancy Roger Charlton's unbeaten filly could be the best horse in this year's Nell Gwyn.

Jason Watson's mount was drawn on the rail at Ascot, and a slow start didn't help her cause. Watson was hard at work on Love Is You from the three-pole, but still managed to circumnavigate the pack and pip a future winner to the post.

Her second win in the Radley Stakes was much more straightforward, as Love Is You forged clear on heavy ground to win by almost four lengths. She and the runner-up, Gift List pulled 11-lengths clear of the third that day, and Gift List has since placed second in a Grade Two out in America, so that form is looking strong too.

Love Is You is by top sire Kingman and a half-sister to the four-time Group-race winner over seven-furlongs, Glorious Journey. Although she could get further in time, seven furlongs and a mile look ideal for this talented filly, and Roger Charlton could have another live 1000 Guineas contender on his hands.
