Race 1 - Suffolk Stakes Tips

I backed BELL ROCK a number of times last season. Including when he ran over course-and-distance in the Cambridgeshire Handicap, where he stayed on to finish third after finding traffic at a crucial stage.

Andrew Balding has called upon William Carver to ride Bell Rock on his reappearance. Carver's yet to ride a winner on turf this season, but in Bell Rock he's found himself a depenadable partner and that five-pound claimer could make a massive difference.

Race 2 - Conqueror Fillies' Stakes Tips

Lilac Road and Maamora both like to lead, and that could set the race up for AGINCOURT, who's had wind surgery since she last ran in the Oak Tree Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. David O'Meara's charge started very slowly that day, and simply couldn't work her way back into contention, trailing home tenth behind One Master.

Before that, Agincourt had finished just a head behind Nazeef at Royal Ascot and crossed the line just three-and-a-half-lengths behind that same rival in the Grade One Falmouth Stakes. O'Meara has fitted a tongue-tie for his six-year-old's reappearance, and Jason Watson's mount appeals most in the betting.

LAZULI was backed into odds-on favouritism for the Dubai Dash on his reappearance at Meydan in February. William Buick had to bustle his mount along for a stride or two early, and the favourite was a little short of room as he tried to round the fading Caspian Prince at the two pole. Lazuli couldn't pick up after that and was forced to settle for third behind Equilateral.

Last year's Scurry Stakes winner ended 2020 with a smart win in the World Trophy at Newbury, where he powered to a convincing victory after Glamorous Anna set a fast pace. Glamorous Anna and Emaraaty Ana will set the early pace down the centre here too, and Lazuli looks perfectly placed to strike from stall six. Even a penalty might not be enough to stop him winning.

Race 4 - Thirsk Hunt Cup Tips

Jean Baptiste E/W2:40pm Thirsk Cliff Stud Thirsk Hunt Cup Handicap (Class 2) 1mGET 14/1 HERE

A wide draw has proven crucial in this handicap down the years, and I fancy an each-way punt on the bottom-weight drawn widest of all, JEAN BAPTISTE.

This four-year-old son of Invincible Spirit was switched from Sir Michael Stoute to George Boughey at the start of the season. Jean Baptiste was beaten just half-a-length at Leicester on his stable debut, and suffered an even finer defeat when second at Nottingham two weeks ago.

This represents a big leap in class to anything he's faced before, but there's no doubting Jean Baptiste is well-treated and he has race-fitness on his side too.

Race 5 - Jockey Club Stakes Tips

Pyledriver3:00pm Newmarket Betfair Exchange Jockey Club Stakes (Group 2) 1m4fGET 9/4 HERE

PYLEDRIVER was one of the feel-good stories of the 2020 season. William Muir's charge, who cost connections just 10,000G at the sales in 2017, won the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last season, and ran away with the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York in the summer.

Martin Dwyer's mount won first time out last season, and he's run up to a level over this distance that far surpasses anything any of his rivals have achieved. At 9/4, Pyledriver looks an excellent bet.
