1:15pm Ayr - Handicap Tips
I'm going to have an each-way punt on MR KING (16/1) in Saturday's opener. Iain Jardine's recruit finished last of ten in a 10-furlong handicap at Doncaster last Saturday, where Jamie Spencer eased his mount down a furlong from home, having failed to get involved from the rear.
Mr King did his best work in Ireland over a mile and ran a lovely race on his stable debut over this distance in the Clipper Handicap at York, where he kept on from off the pace to finish just two-and-a-half lengths behind Thunder Run. Dropping back down to a mile will certainly suit, and Callum Rodriguez takes over in the saddle.
1:30pm Newbury - World Trophy Stakes Tips
A low draw is often preferable on the sprint course at Newbury, and potential pace-setters Adaay In Devon and Desperate Hero have been drawn on that side of the track.
Placed perfectly to challenge from stall five is RELIEF RALLY (6/1), who returns for an autumn campaign after missing most of the summer. William Haggas' filly ran twice at this venue earlier in the season, losing out by three lengths in both the Fred Darling and Carnarvon Stakes.
Perhaps winning the Lowther Stakes last August caused Haggas to think Relief Rally could be a seven-furlong filly. However, Tom Marquand's mount always looked like a sprint specialist to me and she boasts valuable course-and-distance winning form, having stormed to victory in the Super Sprint here last July.
1:50pm Ayr - Doonside Cup Tips
PHANTOM FLIGHT (11/4) tops the betting for this Listed contest, and I'm struggling to see beyond the market leader. George Scott's five-year-old kicked off this season with victory in the Steventon Stakes, before losing out narrowly in both the Glorious and Strensall Stakes.
Callum Shepherd won't be scared of trying to take this from the front, as there seems to be little pace in the race. I'll be hoping to see Caviar Heights go forward quickly from stall one, to give Phantom Flight some company up front. Even under a penalty, I fancy the favourite could be a little too strong for the competition.
2:05pm Newbury - Autumn Cup Handicap Tips
If some soft remains in the going description at Newbury, I'm going to have a small each-way bet on GRAND ALLIANCE (25/1). Charlie Fellowes' five-year-old hacked up in the John Porter Stakes here at Newbury last season, before rounding off a solid campaign with a runner-up effort in the 15-furlong Prix Kergorlay at Deauville.
Grand Alliance suffered a setback during the winter and didn't make his reappearance until the Old Burrough Cup two weeks ago, where he only managed to beat one horse home. The 14-day turnaround suggests that Fellowes stable star came out of that race in good shape and the return to Newbury, a course he likes, should help.

Nothing for me in the Silver Cup. I hate betting in consolation races.
2:40pm Newbury - Dubai Duty Free Handicap Tips
Flying Frontiers and Involvement renew their rivalry from Sandown three weeks ago, and both could still be well-handicapped. Quietness and Canoodled both won well last time out, while progressive three-year-old Whip Cracker returns to action after a summer break.
Down at the bottom of the market we find MUSTAZEED (20/1). Harry Eustace's six-year-old was sent off as the favourite for this race 12 months ago and did very well to finish fourth, having completely blown the start. David Probert's mount is a two-time winner over this course-and-distance, ran a blinder under top-weight at Ascot on his penultimate start, and returns to Newbury rated two pounds lower than last year. 20/1 is too big.
3:00pm Ayr - Firth Of Clyde Stakes Tips
Like Mr King in the opener, I picked out PERFECT PART (16/1) as an eyecatcher following her effort in the Lowther Stakes during the Ebor Festival.
Connor Beasley held Perfect Part up at the rear on her first crack at six furlongs. Celandine eventually beat the staying on Time For Sandals, but Ellison's filly really caught the eye in the closing stages, seeing out the trip well to finish fifth.
I'm pleased to see her remain over six furlongs and Ben Robinson should be able to slot in nicely from stall nine. At 16/1, Perfect Part has been a little overlooked.
