After the initial date on Sunday race cancelled due to a frozen track, the first Grade One of the Irish National Hunt calendar now takes place at Naas on Tuesday, as a classy field of novice hurdlers battle it out in the Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle.

This two-and-a-half miler has been won by many excellent horses down the years, and those who impress will likely run in either the Ballymore or the Albert Bartlett at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival.

We've taken a look through the betting and come up with our Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle tips

Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins have shared the last seven renewals of this Grade One between them. However, I don't think Ireland's most powerful duo play the strongest of hands here.

Blue Lord got up late on to beat Julies Stowaway and Hamundarson on his stable debut. While he looks talented and should come on for the run, the form of that race doesn't look particularly good, and I'm not totally convinced that he's this step up in distance.

Aside from Ballyadam, Gordon Elliott doesn't seem to have a particularly strong bunch of novice hurdlers this season. Wide Receiver has only run up to marks in the low 130s on all of his starts over hurdles so far, and Ragnar Lodbrock was well beaten in a fairly average Grade Three at Naas over Christmas.

Noel Meade has won this race twice, and could throw Flanking Maneuver into the fray. Sean Flanagan's mount ran out a convincing winner on his second start over hurdles, and could make an impact in this classier race.

As could Crosshill, who finished second to Power Of Pause in a two-mile Rated Hurdle on John Durkan day. The time of that race was six second quicker than the maiden Blue Lord won on slightly better ground, and Jessica Harrington's six-year-old comfortably beat future Grade Two runner-up Vanillier over this trip on his hurdles debut.

Both will have to step up their form to overhaul the top two in the betting, and I'd be surprised if they weren't battling out the finish.

Ashdale Bob followed a maiden victory with a smart Grade Two triumph at Navan, beating Fakiera and Gabynako by six lengths. In contrast, BOB OLINGER has only won one of his two starts in maidens. Yet, there are several reasons why I think Henry De Bromhead's charge is the one to side with.

Having gone down fighting to Ferny Hollow over two miles on his hurdles debut, Bob Olinger made all as the 1/8 favourite to open his account in a maiden on the same card as Ashdale Bob's Grade Two win.

The overall time of Bob Olinger's race was a lot slower than the Grade Two, as they went extremely slowly during the first circuit. However, Henry De Bromhead's budding star posted a quicker time from the third-last to the finish, and from the last hurdle to the line Bob Olinger was a second-and-a-half quicker than Ashdale Bob.

That's impressive, when you consider Ashdale Bob was in full drive and Bob Olinger was still cantering away. Rachael Blackmore's mount clearly has more gears to go through, and if he's allowed to dictate the tempo again, I doubt whether any of the runners in here will be able to peg him back.

I'm convinced Bob Olinger is a horse of Grade One calibre, and this could be the first of many top honours that Henry De Bromhead's budding star collects during what could be an illustrious career.
