Before we reach another excellent weekend of racing, flat racing fans have got three Listed races to enjoy from across Ayr and Newbury.

Here are our best betting tips for Friday's three Listed races.

Ayr Tips - Friday 22nd September

Race 3 - Harry Rosebery Stakes Tips

Given how well he ran behind Big Evs in the Molecomb on soft ground at Goodwood, I would be disappointed if PUROSANGUE (7/4) wasn't good enough to beat an inferior field in Friday's first Listed race.

Andrew Balding's juvenile followed that runner-up finish with another second on very different ground at York, where he was outpaced late on by Inquisitively. I have no doubt that this talented son of Aclaim will see out six furlongs, so five furlongs on slow ground should be ideal.

Race 4 - Arran Scottish Sprint Fillies' Stakes Tips

The bookies are finding it hard to split the leading contenders in this sprint and they're currently taking no chances, listing the first nine runners between 9/2 and 10/1.

One who could be a little overpriced is SECRET ANGEL (9/1), who drops down below six furlongs for the first time in her career. A Listed winner in France at two, Karl Burke's filly has threatened to go close a few times this season, without managing to follow it through. She's one of the few runners who's proven she can win on soft ground and Secret Angel certainly has the class to contend at this sort of level.

Newbury Tips - Friday 22nd September

Race 5 - Free Cup Stakes Tips

The ground is even slower at Newbury than it is up at Ayr and that should suit Aldaary, who's a known mudlark. At the prices, however, I'd rather have a punt on BIGGLES (13/2), who ran a decent enough race when fourth in the Park Stakes at Doncaster last Saturday.

Despite getting outpaced three furlongs from home, Biggles stuck to his guns fairly well in that Group Two and Rob Hornby didn't give his mount a particularly hard time. Biggles bolted up in a course-and-distance handicap on soft ground here last season and a reproduction of his winning effort in this year's Bunbury Cup could be enough to win this.
