Sunday's card at Punchestown will be headlined by the Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle, should the track dry out in time. This Grade Two has been won by many outstanding horses down the years, with the likes of Kicking King, Vautor, Douvan and Impaire Et Passe all going on to win Grade Ones at the Cheltenham Festival.

2025 Moscow Flyer Novices' Hurdle Runners

Victory for Salvator Mundi on Sunday would cement him as Willie Mullins' number one horse for the 2025 Supreme Novices' Hurdle. Mullins' recruit finish a close second to Sir Gino on his sole start in France and didn't run badly when sixth on his stable debut in the Triumph Hurdle, especially considering he ran keen at the rear of the field for much of the contest.

Like last year's winner, Mystical Power, Salvator Mundi has been off the track since his maiden hurdle triumph in the summer. Paul Townend's mount won that maiden by a whopping 62-lengths. The 1/12 favourite was expected to win that race as easily as he did, and none of the horses who finished behind him are rated in triple-figures.

Sky Lord won nicely on his hurdles debut, but Henry De Bromhead - who enjoyed such a profitable Christmas - hasn't had a winner from 14 runners in 2025 and his horses seem to have gone completely off the boil. Relieved Of Duties has another level or two to find to catch Salvator Mundi, while both Artic Lane and Mr Rango will be competing for fifth and sixth-place prize money.

Salvator Mundi's main competition will come from stablemate KEL HISTOIRE (11/4). Willie Mullins' recruit was snapped up following an impressive bumper win in France over Kimi De Mai, who went on to complete a hat-trick in French bumpers before also being sold to Willie Mullins.

Kel Histoire wasn't noticeably quick through the air for most of his hurdle debut at Cork. Mark Walsh's mount sat behind the pacemaker throughout, with market rival Kilgame alongside him on the rail. Turning for home, the front two quickly dropped Kilgame and excellent leaps at the final two flights helped Kel Historie seal a comfortable victory.

Much like Salvator Muni's maiden, the form of Kel Histoire's victory has hardly been franked, but the manner in which he strode clear down the home straight was impressive. Mullins has sourced plenty of Graded winners from Alain Couetil's operation in France and deeper ground on Sunday should suit this talented son of Masked Marvel.
