We take a look through the field set to run in this Grade Two at Ascot on Friday, and provide readers with our 2020 Supreme Trial Novices' Hurdle tips.

Friday's card at Ascot is headlined by the Supreme Trial Novices' Hurdle. Known for most of it's existence as the Kennel Gate Hurdle, this Grade Two has been won by promising novice hurdlers like Irving and Yanworth and Make A Stand, who went on to win the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival that same season.

ITV Racing viewers can look forward to another excellent renewal of the Kennel Gate on Friday. Here's how they bet after the 48-hour declarations.

Llandinabo Lad handed a sound thrashing to a future two-time winner on his hurdles debut at Bangor, and ran down two unbeaten hurdlers to win a Listed contest at Haydock on his last start. Tom Symonds' charge carries the highest rating into this race. He also has a five-pound penalty to contend with, against several talented sorts who might be better suited by this nippy, right-handed track.

Dusart had topped the betting for this race prior to coming out, after beating Soaring Glory at Newbury. Soaring Glory, who has beaten Bravemansgame on his hurdle down, was forced to give Dusart six-pounds that day. Jonjo O'Neill's five-year-old jumped and travelled every bit as well as the eventual winner, before the extra weight took it's toll on the run to the line.

Soaring Glory was expected to make amends for that defeat as he carried odds of 1/8 into a novice race at Catterick, and a second win over hurdles seemed to be in the bag, until the favourite suffered a heavy fall at the second-last obstacle.

Nicky Henderson boasts a strong record in this race, and he's handed a chance to No Ordinary Joe, who's only appearance so far has come in a bumper. Henderson attempted something similar with Time Flies By 12 months ago, but his jumping didn't stand up against three more experienced rivals, and I think No Ordinary Joe has a similarly tough task ahead of him.

Shantou Express will be looking for his third win on the bounce, having won his two previous starts by a combined 35 lengths. His last win came over two-and-a-half miles at Sedgefield, and I fear he may not have the speed to hang with several natural two-milers here.

Press Your Luck is another who may want a stiffer test of stamina, and the form of his most recent win at Uttoxeter isn't working out particularly well.

Considering the position Dusart had taken in the betting this week, Soaring Glory offers value. I think it was only the six-pound penalty that stopped him really serving it up to Dusart at Newbury. Had he not fallen when on-course to win easily at Catterick last time out, Soaring Glory would probably be the firm favourite to win Friday's race.

As it is, O'Neill's youngster sits on a fairly appealing price. However, I'm always hesitant to back horses the run after they've fallen. Especially novices, as it can knock their jumping confidence.

The one I'm going to side with is MY DROGO, who's replaced Dusart at the top of the market, and he'll be the best of my betting tips here.

Dan Skelton's charge may have gotten a little lucky at Newbury, in that favourite Flinteur Sacre massively underperformance. Harry Skelton's mount made several mistakes when jumping, but he travelled powerfully between his obstacles and quickened up nicely after the last.

Immediately after that win, Skelton didn't think he was ready for a Graded test just yet. So for him to be thrown into the Kennel Gate tells me this horse has really improved for that outing at Newbury, and My Drogo seems the most sensible bet.

He'll need to be a bit slicker over his jumps, but My Drogo clearly has plenty of ability and would be a worthy winner of this Grade Two.
