Race 1 - John Musker Stakes Tips

Only 6 of the 27 renewals of the John Musker have been won by horses older than three, so it's no surprise to see fillies from that age group dominating the market.

Technique has been beaten a head in Group Three and Listed company this term and she brings the best form to the table. I was, however, very impressed with VILLE DE GRACE'S run behind Saffron Beach last time out, and I'm confident she will relish this step up in trip.

Sir Michael Stoute's filly was only beaten two lengths behind Alcohol Free on her reappearance in the Nell Gwyn. After finishing a one-paced seventh in the Michael Seely at York, Ville De Grace was given a break. Richard Kingscote's mount then went off at 22/1 on her return in the Atalanta Stakes, but plugged on from the rear to finish a a strong third.

Ryan Moore rode the winner of this race for Sir Michael in 2010, and they can notch up another success together with this progressive daughter of Le Harve.

Race 2 - Fortune Stakes Tips

Although Mostahdaf boasts course-and-distance winning form on this sort of ground, I find myself keen to take the market leader on. Sir Busker has run well on juicy turf in the past and he should be much happier back up at a mile. Bullace has been really well backed this morning, and David O'Meara's three-year-old Rhoscolyn cannot be ruled out either.

Yet, with a clear pace-setters in the field, I find myself drawn to the fast-finishing ESCOBAR once again. I backed Adam Kirby's mount when he ran at at Goodwood 18 days ago, and I was gutted when he was beaten just a neck by the progressive Aratus.

Escobar is still looking for that elusive first win this season, but he's run with great credit under big weights in several big handicaps. He was only beaten two lengths as Kinross beat Space Blues in the Group Two Lennox Stakes.

O'Meara's seven-year-old stays a mile well, he likes the track at Sandown and he will certainly be able to handle this ground. At 15/2, Escobar holds plenty of each-way appeal.
