The most prestigious race in National Hunt racing is the Cheltenham Gold Cup, which headlines the card on day four of the Cheltenham Festival. Galopin Des Champs successfully retained his Cheltenham crown with another brilliant display in 2024 and he'll bid for a historic hat-trick next season.

Here's an early look at the betting for the 2025 Gold Cup.

2025 Cheltenham Gold Cup Entries

Galopin Des Champs' chief rival in the betting for next year's Gold Cup is stablemate, Fact To File. Willie Mullins' star ran out an excellent winner of the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase on just his fourth start over obstacles at this year's Festival and Fact To File sits just behind the defending champion in the market.

Runaway Kauto Star Novices' Chase winner, Il Est Francais didn't travel over for Cheltenham this year, but Noel George's French star could head on to the Gold Cup following a tilt at the King George later this year. Dan Skelton's Grey Dawning was installed at 12/1 for the Gold Cup after his victory in the Turners' Novices' Chase in 2024. Emphatic National Hunt Chase winner, Corbetts Cross also sits prominently in the early betting.

Gerri Colombe could return for another crack at the Gold Cup in 2025, having finished second to Galopin Des Champs this year. Henry De Bromhead will have Gold Cup aspirations with top novice Monty's Star. Fastorslow has unfinished business with the race too, having unseated JJ Slevin at the half-way stage this year.

Other notable names in the Cheltenham Festival betting include Kim Muir winner Inothewayurthinkin and Ultima Handicap Chase winner, Chianti Classico. Gaelic Warrior and Facile Vega feature in the betting for Willie Mullins. Iroko, Ginny's Destiny, Hewick, Corach Rambler and Shishkin can be backed at around 33/1.
