2025 Champion Hurdle Entries
State Man comfortably dispatched Irish Point to win the 2024 Champion Hurdle and he'll likely return to defend his crown in 2025. Constitution Hill is expected to run again before the end of the season and the bookmakers still make Nicky Henderson's unbeaten star the firm favourite for next year's renewal.
Following a sparkling performance in the Mares' Hurdle, Willie Mullins said that Lossiemouth will be campaigned as a Champion Hurdle horse next season. Mullins has also said similar about Gallagher Novices' Hurdle winner Ballyburn, who could have a crack at the Champion Hurdle before stepping up in trip over fences.
Irish Point sits fifth in the current market, although he will more than likely be stepped back up in distance by Gordon Elliott. There's then a decent gap in the Cheltenham Festival betting until we reach the first and second from this year's Supreme Novices' Hurdle, Slade Steel and Mystical Power.
Like Constitution Hill, Nicky Henderson was forced to pull Sir Gino from the Triumph Hurdle, but he could be taken down the Champion Hurdle route next season. Other possible runners include Canother couple of Willie Mullins' Festival winners in Absurde and Majborough, Mares' Novices' Hurdle queen Golden Ace and Fergal O'Brien's stable star, Dysart Enos.
