Longchamp Tips - Sunday 12th September

Race 1 - Prix Niel Tips

Having thrashed some quality rivals on his first two starts of the season, BOLSHOI BALLET went into the Derby as the 11/8 favourite. Sadly, Aidan O'Brien's colt couldn't produce his best on the day, crossing the line a well-beaten seventh.

Since then, Bolshoi Ballet has run twice in the States, comfortably winning the Belmont Derby before getting a little out-paced in the Saratoga Derby. Frankie Dettori's mount is bred to get a mile-and-a-half and he doesn't seem to have much to beat in this Group Two. He should get the job done.

Race 2 - Prix Vermeille Tips

As should SNOWFALL, who's been imperious so far this season, winning the Musidora Stakes before completing a hat-trick of Oaks victories. Burgarita, who followed Free Wind home in the Prix Minerve, could be a decent bet in the "without the favourite" market, but this really should be a penalty kick for the odds-on favourite.

Race 3 - Prix Foy Tips

Iresine E/W3:30pm Longchamp Qatar Prix Foy (Group 2) 1m4fGET 15/2 HERE

Another race where the betting is dominated by one runner. Skaletti has been superb this season, winning all four of his starts, including Group One wins in the Prix d'Ispahan and the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis.

12 furlongs is, however, uncharted territory for the market leader, so it could be worth taking him on. One who will certainly stay the trip is IRESINE, and he could be worth siding with at the prices.

Mlle Marie Velon's mount is unbeaten in four starts over this distance. On the back of a fantastic win over Magny Cours in the La Coupe, Iresine went off as the 1/5 favourite to win the ten-furlong Grand Prix de Vichy, but ran really flat on the day and crossed the line fourth.

JP Gauvin has given his gelding 50-days off to recover from that poor run, and Iresine looks a decent value bet now he steps back up in distance.

Race 5 - Prix du Pin Tips

Sagamiyra and Tropbeau come into this on the back of two very good seconds in Group One company, and both are respected. The value here could lie with ERASMO, who went in search of a hat-trick in a massive competitive renewal of the Prix Jean Prat last time out.

Andre Fabre's three-year-old looked a little outclassed on the day, crossing the line seventh as Laws Of Indices and Thunder Moon fought out the finish. This looks a decent drop in class compared to that red-hot Group One, and Erasmo can bounce back with a big performance.
