After a week of fantastic action at Royal Ascot, flat racing fans look to France for their fix of Group One action on Sunday. 18 fillies will go to post in the French equivalent of the Oaks, the Prix de Diane and this year's renewal looks as open as any we've seen in recent history.

I've taken a look through the betting at Chantilly and picked out my best betting tips.

The first runner I want to back is PHILOMENE, who's done little wrong during her brief career thus far.

Having scored on her only start as a two-year-old, Andre Fabre's filly cruised to a comfortable victory on her reappearance over this trip in the Prix Penelope. Mickael Barzalona didn't need to use his stick to push the favourite to victory that day. Incarville crossed the line a two-and-a-half-length runner-up, and she went on to boost that form by winning the Prix Saint-Alary at Longchamp in May.

Instead of targetting that 10-furlong Group One, Fabre decided to throw Philomene in with the milers in the French 1000 Guineas. Barzalona's mount travelled into the race nicely, but got a little pinched for room at a crucial stage and Barzalona gave up the ghost fairly quickly after that.

A sixth-place finish in that Classic isn't a bad piece of form to bring into Chantilly. Philomene has winning form over this distance, and both her victories came on decent ground. I think she's an excellent bet at 6/1.

With William Hill offering five paid places in this wide-open Group One, I'm going to back two runners. The other one I like is SWEET LADY, who's finished fourth on both her most recent starts and definitely seems overlooked in the market.

After ending her juvenile campaign with a three-length defeat in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud, Francois-Henri Graffard's filly bolted up on her reappearance back down over a mile, slamming Tiger Tanaka by six lengths.

Sweet Lady then went to post as the 4/5 favourite for the Prix de la Grotte, but was forced wide turning in and her late charge down the centre came up half-a-length short. After being drawn in stall one in the French 1000 Guineas, Theo Bachelot was then forced to ride his mount much more prominently and, although she looked outpaced at several stages, Sweet Lady kept on gamely to finish fourth.

Sweet Lady is by a fantastic middle-distance sire in Lope De Vega. Her dam was a Listed winner over 13 furlongs, and two of her half-sisters won decent races over a mile-and-a-half. There's no doubting Sweet Lady is bred to stay further than a mile, and she's shown this season that she's not short of one-mile pace. This trip should suit her perfectly.

As this looks an extremely open renewal, I'm going to back both Philomene and Sweet Lady in this year's Prix de Diane.
