Previous form in this race has been vital down the years. We've seen three back-to-back winners from nine renewals, and Frederick Engles managed to place in the Centenary Cup four years in a row.

Hot King Prawn finished third in this race 12 months ago. John Size's six-year-old returns to Sha Tin as the highest rated horse in the field, despite only managing to win two of his eight starts in the meantime.

Hot King Prawn has often looked a little one-paced once out in front, and his draw in stall two might force Joao Moreira to hit the head of the field a little earlier than he would ideally like.

The favourite could be vulnerable to a fast closer, and the one who holds most appeal is WISHFUL THINKER.

CH Yip's seven-year-old was drawn poorly here last year, and couldn't execute his preferred hold-up tactics from the gate closest to the rail.

Wishful Thinker flew home from the rear to beat both Hot King Prawn and Computer Patch in The Premier Bowl. After a limp performance in the Jockey Club Sprint, Yip's seven-year-old came from the clouds again to finish a one-length fourth in the Hong Kong Sprint.

KC Leung, who has partnered Wishful Thinker on all his starts this season, may feel a little hard done by after getting jocked off. Christophe Soumillion will take his place in the saddle, and the Frenchman is the perfect jockey to call on if you want to win a race coming fast and late.
