Saint-Cloud Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 4 No. 8 Savvy Warrior
He was thereabouts in stronger company throughout last season and, while Savvy Warrior has not been able to cash in via four Class 4 appearances in 2025-26, the rise in distance appeared key to his November and December efforts.
The gelding recorded a fifth and a fourth over this track-and-trip and worked home nicely on both occasions.
A combined six subsequent winners have come from those two races.
The 1200m trip was too sharp in his April 1 resumption, although the Sha Tin All-Weather return was still a pass mark when doing his best work late.
With a tick-over trial completed and a rise back to 1650m alongside another drop in the weights, Savvy Warrior comes right into contention on Wednesday night.
Saint-Cloud Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 8 Precision Hope
There still appears upside with this lightly raced four-year-old, who showed glimpses in his first three Hong Kong appearances before a freshen-up.
Via the March 1 return, Precision Hope closed off nicely over 1200m at big odds in a Class 4 that has since produced three winners.
The rise in trip for his past two outings looked the right move, although little has gone right in either appearance.
The first of those came when he settled back before finding trouble in running, while the latest on April 8 saw the gelding dragged back from a wide draw in a leader-dominated affair.
Precision Hope has since won a trial and importantly comes up with a low barrier here after drawing wide in his past four starts.
Chantilly Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Happy Valley Roughie - Race 7 No. 1 Young Arrow
There is a wide barrier to overcome here, although there is also a double-figure quote available for Young Arrow after a luckless latest performance.
Returning to Class 4 company last time out, the son of Showtime was held up at key stages in the straight before flashing home for third once clear.
A rails run was initially denied before another passage closed when the eventual quinella tightened later in the race.
Despite the modest strike-rate, that effort was his first defeat in this grade following a Class 4 victory just under 12 months ago carrying the same 61kg impost.
Douglas Whyte prepares Young Arrow and the stable recorded a winning treble at the latest Happy Valley meeting on April 29.
Deauville Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 8 No. 2 Aurio
Over the past 12 months, the trainer and jockey combination of Manfred Mann and Zac Purton has combined for 13 winners at a strong 31% strike-rate.
The pair team up again with Aurio, who overcame trouble to score over this track-and-trip on March 18.
The son of Capitalist showed tenacity there when taking a tight gap before opening up a soft one-and-a-half-length margin in a Class 3 that has already produced two subsequent winners.
Aurio could not complete the double on April 22, although it was still another strong effort when runner-up behind Jubilant Winner.
He was the only galloper to make ground in a race that favoured on-speed runners and the five-year-old is a deserving favourite in the penultimate.
