Sheung Shui Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Sturdy Ruby
Zac Purton stays aboard the son of Street Boss following a runner-up finish over this track/trip on February 7, where the gelding was back and ridden for luck from a wide draw.
Sturdy Ruby was only a few strides off grabbing Lovero in that latest outing and that form has stacked up well, with Lovero just missing last Wednesday when stepping up in grade.
That February 7 event has also produced Galvanic, who saluted in this grade last week and the second fav here in Dragon Star was defeated by Sturdy Ruby in that same contest.
The four-year-old did catch the eye the start prior when negotiating traffic to finish fifth and now from a low draw in a Class 4 that's arguably a little weaker, he can breakthrough.
The Rotary Centenary Challenge Cup Tips (Race 5)
Happy Valley Roughie - Race 5 No. 7 Sing Dragon
He appeared to travel well in the lead via his Hong Kong debut on February 7, but his condition gave out over the last 150m, with the four-year-old beaten 4.5 lengths.
Although Sing Dragon was in the market via that Class 3 event, he was having first race start since December 31, 2022 and the jockey said he was in need of the gallop.
Mark Newnham has since sent him back to the trials, with the son of Written Tycoon taking out that February 20 heat in nice style and that hit-out should bring him on.
When campaigning as 'Operative' in Australia, he recorded a strong on-speed victory second-up in what turned out to be a hot form race Down Under (race produced eight winners).
Tsuen Wan Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 6 No. 10 Tattenham
The four-year-old saluted off a similar mark at huge odds in October, so with 1.5kg-2kg less tonight than in six subsequent outings after that win, Tattenham has to be considered.
While he's been each-way odds throughout that period, the Pierre Ng-trained galloper has been competitive either side of a 1650m tilt, a trip which proved too long.
The son of Hellbent was set a big task via his latest showing here on February 7, however, he balanced up late and hit the line strongly, recording the fastest last 200m of that race.
Tattenham is capable of settling a lot closer in the run, especially in a line-up that appears lighter on for early tempo and with a few more favours, he's at least an each-way chance.
Kwai Chung Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 8 No. 7 Chain Of Gold
Following a fair Hong Kong debut over an unsuitable trip, we were with Chain Of Gold second-up at a big price, with the gelding better placed out to 1200m in that February 7 tilt.
Although he was never in winning contention, it was a flashing light performance from the four-year-old, who rattled off the fastest last 200m of that Class 3 when grabbing third.
Chain Of Gold is still putting it all together despite having 15 starts to his name and aside from a heavy track flop, he did improve with racing as his last Australian prep wore on.
Third-up via his last campaign Down Under, he wasn't beaten far behind Strait Acer (Group 1 placed) and with more progression this evening, he should be thereabouts with even luck.
Tsuen Wan Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 1 Beauty Infinity
Zac Purton will be eager to atone on Beauty Infinity following a runner-up finish on February 7, as he was further back than predicted there and it ultimately cost him the race.
Also, he ran into a debut winner who recorded a very respectable figure off a much softer run and while the gelding had to settle for second, he still put 2.5 lengths on third.
A John-Size-trained galloper who has the talent to progress beyond Class 4 level, Beauty Infinity was an impressive winner over this track/trip at start two and he's still improving.
The son of Toronado deserves a second victory and another plus is that there was early intent via a tick-over trial in a strong heat on February 22, so expect a more positive Purton here.
