Japanese entire Glory Vase is trying to create history in the 2022 Hong Kong Vase, with the son of Deep Impact aiming to become the first horse to win this race three times.
While he's a seven-year-old now, the favourite is still lightly raced, with just 19 starts to his name and at $2.80 via Unibet Australia, he is fancied to create a new record on Sunday.
Having already recorded three Hong Kong Vase winners, Aidan O'Brien is the most successful trainer in Hong Kong Vase history and he's strong chance of adding fourth with Stone Age ($5.50).
Two of O’Brien’s Vase winners took this feature out as three-year-old's (Highland Reel - 2015 and Mogul - 2020), so there is a strong profile for this Galileo colt, who arrives off a second-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Turf.
Sharing the second line of betting with Stone Age is Win Marilyn ($5.50), a Japanese mare with three Group Two wins to her name, although has just the two placings from eight Group One attempts.
With all five of her victories coming in 2000m-2500m range, she'll relish a strong 2400m at Sha Tin.
While he was a big loss for the thin Australian staying ranks, Senor Toba ($6) continues to progress in Hong Kong and he arrives to the 2022 Hong Kong Vase off a strong third in the Jockey Club Cup on November 20.
