Sunday at the Dublin Racing Festival is headlined by the Irish Gold Cup. This prestigious three-mile chase has been won by many of Ireland's greats names, including Jodami, Beef Or Salmon and Florida Pearl.

Minella Indo tops the market for Sunday's Irish Gold Cup, despite his fall in the Savills Chase last time out.

I've already had a small bet on Minella Indo to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup, and wouldn't be surprised to see him win. I just think, considering he fell quite heavily the last day, and the fact he's never won a Grade One over fences, that he's worth taking on at 5/2.

Kemboy reeled in Melon when they met in the Savills Chase and looked on-course to end his five-race losing streak, only for A Plus Tard to run down the leader in the dying strides.

Willie Mullins' charge usually runs well here at Leopardstown, but he does his best work on good ground and - for once - it seems the chase track at Leopardstown this weekend will be nice and soft.

Melon jumped his way to the front of the field sooner than anyone expected over in the Savills Chase Christmas, and that proved to be his downfall, as he tied up markedly on the run to the line.

Mullins indicated this week that he'll be held onto for as long as possible on Sunday. Yet, I fear that will take away Melon's most dangerous weapon, his jumping. Plus, he's still yet to win in 15 starts at Grade One level, so Melon's will to win had to be questioned.

Gordon Elliott throws two into the mix here, the second of those being The Storyteller. The former Cheltenham Festival winner capped a resurgence in form with a smart victory in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at the start of the season.

While he may be a two-time Grade One winner, Elliott has not bothered to enter The Storyteller in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham. He's the lowest-rated horse in this field by three pounds, with further progression over fences extremely unlikely.

The highest-rated is DELTA WORK, who stayed on well to beat Kemboy and Presenting Percy in the Irish Gold Cup race 12 months ago.

Delta Work then went on to produce his worst round of jumping to date in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. As is his custom, Gordon Elliott's charge was beaten on his reappearance behind The Storyteller, and followed that up with a fall in the Savills Chase, departing the scene just after Minella Indo made his race-ending blunder.

Three defeats in a row leave Delta Work sitting at 9/3 to win on Sunday, and 33/1 to win the Gold Cup next month. Yet, I feel those prices are there to be exploited.

Despite a shocking round of jumping at Cheltenham, Delta Work was only beaten six lengths. Elliott's charge ran better than most expected on his return in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase, and was jumping really well in the Savills Chase, until he stumbled on landing the ninth and unseated Sean Flanagan.

Delta Work has won as many Grade Ones chases as the rest of the field combined. He's the highest-rated chaser at 170, despite being the joint-youngest, with Minella Indo his junior by just two weeks.

Jack Kennedy knows exactly how to get the best out of Delta Work, and he's won three of his four starts in Grade Ones around this track. 5/1 is a fantastic price, and I wouldn't put anyone off backing Delta Work to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

There's no doubting Delta Work is wildly overpriced at 9/2, and he has to be considered one of the best bets of the 2021 Dublin Racing Festival.
