Less than a month after the British equivalent has taken place at Epsom, a field of talented three-year-old colts travel to the Curragh to battle it out in the Irish Derby. Horses who impress in that historic Classic often go on to run in the Irish Derby, so it's no surprise to see the betting dominated by horses who ran well in the Epsom Derby.

Let's take a look through the latest Irish Derby betting and run through the headline entries.

The market for next Sunday's Irish Derby is topped by Ambiente Friendly. James Fanshawe's star won the Lingfield Derby Trial before finishing second in the Derby at Epsom, and he'll be supplemented into this historic Classic.

Following his excellent third-place finish behind City Of Troy at Epsom, Los Angeles sits second in the betting. City Of Troy is entered, but he'll head for the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.

Charlie Appleby's Arabian Crown was one of the favourite for the Epsom Derby, but was forced to miss that Classic. He could make the trip over to Ireland, along with stablemate Ancient Wisdom, who disappointed when only eighth at Epsom.

Roger Varian looked likely to be represented by Matsuri, an impressive winner of a ten-furlong novice at Leicester on his reappearance. Ed Walker has handed an entry to St James's Palace Stakes sixth Almaqam. Epsom fourth, Deira Mile could fly the flag for Owen Burrows. Ghostwriter, Valvano, Defiance and Salamanca could also represent British connections.

Queen's Vase runner-up Highbury, Chester Vase third Grosvenor Square, and runaway maiden winner Jan Brueghel could all join stablemate Los Angeles in the field. Other possible runners include Bremen for Donnacha O'Brien, Paddy Twomey's Deep One, Dallas Star for Amo Racing, and Keeper's Heart for Ger Lyons.
