Two famous Irish venues stage top-quality racing on Sunday afternoon. Curragh card is headlined by the Irish version of the Cesarewitch, while a capacity crowd will gather at Limerick to enjoy the Munster National Handicap Chase.

We've taken a closer look at both of these huge handicaps and picked out our best Irish Horse Racing tips.

Irish Racing Tips - Sunday 10th October

Race 1 - Irish Cesarewitch Tips

I included Benaud in my Horses To Follow series, as I think he's got huge potential for going over hurdles. In a flat handicap as competitive as this is, though, I'm worried that he's got a little too much weight and not enough experience.

Like in the British version of this historic handicap, Willie Mullins boasts a strong record. He saddles five in search of a fourth win in the last eight years, but none of Willie runners really peak my interest.

The one I really like as an each-way price is MONAS MELODY, for Seamie Heffernan and Sam Curling. Third in a Listed bumper at Gowran Park last autumn, Monas Melody made all to beat several classy National Hunt horses to win a 14-furlong maiden at Killarney back in July.

Heffernan was in the saddle when this daughter of Ruler Of The World placed second behind the talented Micro Manage at Galway. Monas Melody was then outpaced rounding the bend at Leopardstown last time out, but stayed on gamely to finish a five-length eight.

Stepping back up in trip on a track while suits strong gallopers is certainly going to suit. Despite running up to an RPR of 96 last time, the handicapper has dropped Monas Melody a pound to an official mark of 91. She looks too big in the betting at 12/1.

Race 2 - Munster National Tips

Backing a young, up-and-coming chaser who still looks unexposed at handicap level is usually the best plan of attack in the Munster National. There are several runners who fit that profile, including well-backed favourite Cavalry Master, but I'd rather side with FAIRYHILL RUN at the prices.

John Ryan's mare has run up a hat-trick of victories over the summer, winning a three mile hurdle at Tipperary before romping to a 14-length victory in the Newcastlewest Handicap Chase here at Limerick. Bryan Cooper's mount then completed a three-timer in the Kilbeggan Handicap Chase, tanked her way to the front with four to jump and staying on gamely to win by six lengths.

Ryan had then hoped to run in the Kerry National, but she missed out on a spot in that field by a single place. Fairyhill Run is guaranteed a run on Sunday, and she can continue her fantastic progression with another massive performance.

Verdict

Monas Melody looks a solid each-way option in the Irish Cesarewitch. Fairyhill Run is fancied to continue her winning streak in the Munster National.
