Henry De Bromhead Stable Tour 2021/22

Stable Stars

Bob Olinger

"He’s in great nick and has summered really well. The plan is to go novice chasing with him this season and we’ll look to start him back in a maiden chase around mid-November. I’d say we are probably likely to stay around mid-range trips with him, but we’ll play it by ear based on how his runs pan out as the season progresses. He had a great time of it last season and looks really exciting, so we are hoping he transitions well to fences and has another good season."

Honeysuckle

"She’s brilliant! She summered really well with Peter Molony and seems in great form. The plan is to stay hurdling, and I’d say we’ll look at a similar sort of campaign again. The Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse is likely to be her starting point and we’ll kick on from there. You couldn’t but be excited to be involved with a mare like her."

Minella Indo

"He has summered really well and looks great. We are planning on starting him off in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal at the end of this month. We might not keep him quite as busy this season, but we’ll start at Down Royal and work (towards the Gold Cup) from there. The King George at Kempton will be an option for him after that."

Gentleman Joe

"He came to us off the Flat and we are getting to know him all the time. The plan is to go juvenile hurdling with him, and we are excited to see how he takes to it. He’ll hopefully be ready to start off in November."

Grand Jury

"He’s a lovely horse. He was a little bit disappointing in his second bumper at Punchestown, but he looks great now and has been schooling well over hurdles, so we are looking forward to him. I thought he showed plenty of pace in bumpers, so starting him off at two miles over hurdles is an option."

Guily Billy

"He looked an exciting horse when winning his point-to-point. He’s been working well, and we’ll look to start him off in a maiden hurdle in the next few weeks. We’ll probably start him off over two-and-a-half miles."

Journey With Me

"His work has been very good since he came back in, and we’ll look to start him off in a maiden hurdle in a month or so. He looks very exciting and hopefully he’ll continue to impress. I suspect we’ll start him off at two-and-a-half miles."

Older Hurdlers

Aspire Tower

"He disappointed us in his final start of last season at the Punchestown Festival, but he came back sore from that, and we are happy to excuse it. We gave him a good break after that and are very happy with how he did over the summer. We haven’t set a first target in stone for him yet, but I’d imagine he’ll have a similar campaign to last season."

Jason The Millitant

"I thought he ran well on his seasonal reappearance at Tipperary last week. He was giving away plenty of weight and I suspect he just needed the run. We are considering the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle for him next. Wherever he goes will be dependent on soft ground, as that is his preferred surface."

Quilixios

"He’s in great form and seems to have done really well for his summer break. We have the WKD Hurdle at Down Royal in mind as a starting point for him. He has to find a fair bit of improvement in get in amongst the open-class hurdlers, but we’ll give him the chance to do so."

Telmesomethinggirl

"She’s come back from her summer break looking really well. We haven’t picked out a specific starting point for her yet, but we’ll basically be working backwards from the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival."

Novice Chasers

Ballyadam

"He was a high-class novice hurdler last season that had schooled well over fences prior to his chasing debut at Punchestown earlier today, so it was surprising to see him fall at the first fence. We’ll regroup with him and hope to get him back on track soon."

Irascible

"He’s come back from his holidays looking great. The plan is to go novice chasing with him and I’d say he could be one to try over a bit further than two miles this season. He has been schooling really well, so we are hopeful that he will prove to be a better chaser than hurdler."

Malone Road

"He had an issue with a knee last season, but he seems very good now and is working away grand. The plan is to go novice chasing with him and start him off in a month or so. His old form is very good, so hopefully we can get him back to where he was."

Mr Incredible

"Mr Incredible is a nice horse that won his maiden hurdle well last season before picking up a little setback that finished his campaign a bit prematurely. We are planning on going novice chasing with him and will hope to start him off in early-November."

Older Chasers

A Plus Tard

"He has summered really well and is in great form. We were thrilled with the way he progressed last season and proved his stamina for staying trips. We are aiming him at the Betfair Chase at Haydock in November to get him started and the Savills Chase at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting might well be his next destination after that. He has a big preference for going left-handed and I don’t think we’ll be running him right-handed again."

Chris's Dream

"He’s in great form and we are aiming him at the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury. He seemed to take well to the Grand National at Aintree last year and seemed to enjoy himself until his exit, so he might well end up back there later in the season."

Eklat De Rire

"The plan with him is the second-season chaser race at Wexford later this month that Minella Indo won last season. He has a step up to make to get in amongst the best staying chasers, but he has more improvement in him, and I’d be hopeful that he can take a strong step forward."

Envoi Allen

"It’s been well reported that he needed surgery to have a chip removed after his disappointing run at the Punchestown Festival, but he’s back here a while now and is in great form. We are looking at the second-season chaser race at Down Royal as a starting point for him. We’ll see how he goes there before we decide which way to go with him in trip terms. He’s working well and seems in great order."

Minella Times

"He gave us all a day we’ll never forget at Aintree in April. He has come back from his holidays looking great and we’ll look to start him back in the next month or so. I haven’t discussed him with JP and Frank yet, so we don’t have a specific target in mind at the minute."

Monalee

"He picked up an injury last season that cut his campaign short, but he’s looking good now and he should be ready to run by the end of November. His form in top staying chases prior to his injury was very good, so the hope is to work our way back up to that level with him."

Notebook

"Notebook is in good order, and we’ll probably look to start him off in the Fortria Chase at Navan. We’ll probably step him up in trip after that."

Put The Kettle On

"She looks great and I’m very happy with her. We are now going to start her off in the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham’s November meeting, which she won last year. She absolutely loves Cheltenham, so we’ll try to oblige her by running her there as often as we can!"
