Kelso hosts a strong card on Saturday afternoon, which includes the Morebattle Hurdle. Any horse who can win the Morebattle and go on to score at the Cheltenham Festival will earn a £100k bonus, an incredible feat that was achieved in 2021 by The Shunter, who built on his Morebattle victory by winning the Plate Handicap Chase at Cheltenham two weeks later.

Here's the latest Morebattle Hurdle betting and a look through the most likely runners.

2024 Morebattle Hurdle Entries

The firm-favourite to secure victory in Saturday's feature is Nicky Henderson's mare, Under Control. Nico De Boinville's mount drops back into handicap company following an excellent runner-up finish in the Yorkshire Rose at Doncaster, and Under Control holds entries for both the Mares' Hurdle at the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Fellow mare, Brucio will be looking to land a hat-trick following victories at Catterick and Leopardstown. Stuart Crawford's six-year-old is also entered in the County Hurdle, along with the Martin Pipe and the Mares' Novices' Hurdle.

Sandy Thomson's Benson ran out an impressive winner of this contest 12 months ago and returns to Kelso running off a five-pound higher mark. Kerry Lee's Black Hawk Eagle and Dan Skelton's Skycutter will both step up to Class 2 company, following impressive handicap victories.

Charlotte Jones and James Moffatt will team up with Bingoo, who'll be looking to complete a four-timer. Hat-trick-seeking Rewired also brings winning form to the table, and he'll be ridden again by five-pound claimer, Luke Scott.

Other possible runners include Anyharminasking for Jonjo O'Neill, Ewan Whillans' Cracking Rhapsody, Geronimo for Donald McCain and Charlie Maggs, and Paul Nicholls' French recruit, Sans Bruit.
