Royal Ascot reached its penultimate day this afternoon, with two Group One races headlining Friday's card.

Inisherin justified favouritism with a dominant performance in the Commonwealth Cup, with Kevin Ryan's sprinter beating Jasour and the charging Lake Forest. Donnacha O'Brien got one over on his father, Aidan in the following Coronation Stakes, as Porta Fortuna ran down Opera Singer to win her second Group One.

Ryan Moore produced another stunning ride in the opening Albany Stakes, coming from well off the pace to win aboard favourite Fairy Godmother. There were then emotional scenes in the winner's enclosure, as Colin Keane won the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes aboard his father's horse, Crystal Black for the Wear A Pink Ribbon Syndicate.

Billy Loughnane claimed his second winner of the week, guiding George Boughey's Soprano to victory in the Sandringham Stakes. French raider Calandagan romped to victory in the King Edward VII Stakes. The card closing handicap, the Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes went the way of Dave Barron's Pilgrim, who won well under Joe Fanning.
