Race 1 - COFFEE BREAK (2)
COFFEE BREAK made the natural improvement when finishing second over 1200m at Kenilworth. He showed good speed that day and stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Vercingetorix looks to be a progressive type and he should enjoy the extra furlong on offer. Richard Fourie steps into the saddle and he can go one better.
Race 5 - OCEAN WARRIOR (8)
OCEAN WARRIOR showed very good improvement when finishing second in his last start over this distance at Kenilworth. He was slow into stride, but raced from a handy position and stayed on strongly all the way to the line. The son of Coup De Grace takes on older, but he receives his age allowance and should go one better.
Race 6 - HIS CHOICE (2)
HIS CHOICE has top consistent form lines to his credit. He should have won last time as he had to be switched at the 150m mark. The son of Trippi returns from an 11-week break which may have done him the world of good. With a bit of luck in running, he should be the one they all have to beat.
Race 7 - SALVATOR MUNDI (2)
SALVATOR MUNDI has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He ran a creditable race in the Listed East Cape Guineas last time. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. He returns from a 14-week break and if not in need of the run, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 8 - DE BULL (7)
DE BULL finished 1.05 lengths behind FIGHTER last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Coup De Grace gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. Grant Behr, a rising star of South African horse racing, steps back into the saddle and the pair should go close.
