Race 2 - MY BOY REECEY (10)
MY BOY REECEY showed very good improvement when finishing third over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He was slow into stride, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Wylie Hall will love the extra distance on offer and from his good draw of three, he should be the one to beat.
Race 5 - AMERICAN LANDING (2)
AMERICAN LANDING showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 2000m on the polytrack. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely to finish fourth. The 7yo gelding has won twice, finished second three times and third once from seven starts over this C&D. He takes a slight drop in class this afternoon and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can return to winning ways.
Race 7 - APACHE DREAM (7)
APACHE DREAM is one of the better bets on today’s programme. She showed good guts when winning her last start over 1950m at Kenilworth. The 6yo mare takes a drop in class and tries the Fairview track for the first time. She is likely to have her own way in front and if suited to the course, she may be hard to peg back.
Race 8 - RAZOR RED (5)
RAZOR RED won a good race on debut over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He returns from a 13-week break today, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Red Ray takes a rise in class, but could be anything and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 9 - FOREST FIELD (1)
FOREST FIELD ran a good race when finishing second in the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. If repeating that effort today, she should go one better.
