Fairview Tips on July 12th - Best Bets and Predictions

Fairview racecourse hosts its usual Friday meeting today, with the first race set to go off at 11:40am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing selections for today.
Fairview Tips - Friday 12th July
Race 4 - ELLORIX (1)
ELLORIX should have finished closer over this distance on the polytrack last time as she was awkwardly placed at the 200m mark. The daughter of Vercingetorix should enjoy racing on the turf track. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 5 - GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (2)
GRAZINGINTHEGRASS fought hard in his last start but found one too good in the form of CHERRY ANO. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this distance. He is drawn wide in barrier 10, but Richard Fourie knows him well and he should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 6 - BATTLEGROUND (4)
BATTLEGROUND hails from the visiting Lucky Houdalakis stable. He stayed on when third over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He finished third in the Listed TAB Gold Bowl in his penultimate start, over this distance. The booking of S’manga Khumalo is a big plus and if all went well with his travels, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 7 - GIMME’S LASSIE (9)
GIMME’S LASSIE finished 1.55 lengths behind PASSCHENDAELE last time. She is 7kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Nirvan Nastili which will assist her cause. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and should return to winning ways.
Race 8 - GIMME’S LADDIE (2)
GIMME’S LADDIE was slow into stride over 1200m last time, but stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that Jewel Cat has come out and won again since. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. He should enjoy the longer run-in on the turf and can notch up his third-career victory.
Verdict
Grazinginthegrass (Race 5) is Magic Tips' best bet of the day at Fairview on Friday.
