Race 1 - COFFEE BREAK (2)
COFFEE BREAK hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. He showed good improvement when finishing second over this distance at Kenilworth last time. The son of Vercingetorix showed good speed and stayed on nicely at the finish. He looks to be a progressive type and if all went well with his travels. he should take a power of beating.
Race 3 - BEL PUNTO (1)
BEL PUNTO fought hard in his last start over this distance at Durbanville, but found one too good in the form of Abraham Lincoln. He does have a wide draw to overcome today, but is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. If suited to the track, he can go one better here.
Race 5 - LOVE HAPPENS (1)
LOVE HAPPENS has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts. The son of Silvano is the best weighted runner in this contest and should be cherry-ripe. He makes his course debut and if suited to the track, he should be the one to beat.
Race 6 - SOMERSET MAUGHAM (1)
SOMERSET MAUGHAM is the best bet on the card. He was not disgraced when finishing third in the Grade 3 Pocket Power Stakes. The drop in trip should not pose a concern as he has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. He is the best weighted runner in this contest and should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 8 - REGIMENTAL (1)
REGIMENTAL is a winner of his last four starts. Despite receiving a bump at the 150m mark last time, he showed guts to notch up his fifth career victory. The son of Captain Al should have no issues with the big mass of 61kgs and should find himself in the winner’s enclosure once again.
