Race 2 - KING SALADIN (1)
KING SALADIN hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. He raced from just off the pace over 1250m at Durbanville last time, but was outrun in the latter stages. The son of Silvano finished second in his only attempt over this distance. If all went well with his travels, he should be the one to beat.
Race 3 - LINGUEE (1)
LINGUEE showed some nice improvement in his last start over 2000m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will love the rise to 2400m. He should strip a much fitter horse this afternoon and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he should be the one to beat.
Race 4 - LADY DEFIANCE (4)
LADY DEFIANCE was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over 1800m on this course. The manner in which she quickened up and drew clear of the opposition was eye-catching. The daughter of I Am Invincible should have no issues with the extra furlong on offer. She is in a good space and should notch up her third career victory.
Race 5 - SWEET MARY JANE (6)
SWEET MARY JANE won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over 1250m at Durbanville. She was reported to have choked up that day. The daughter of Pathfork tries the 1400m for the first time. She does take on stronger, but is lightly raced and has plenty of scope. From her mid-field draw, she should be the one to beat.
Race 6 - ENCRYPTION (2)
ENCRYPTION raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Aqua Delta. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The 5yo mare is back against her own sex this afternoon and can return to winning ways.
