Race 1 - FLOWER’S RIDGE (1)
FLOWER’S RIDGE showed very good improvement when finishing second in his local debut over 1200m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Flower Alley will love the step up to the mile and with Warren Kennedy in the saddle, he should go one better.
Race 4 - BHAKKA (3)
BHAKKA was given a strong ride when winning his last start over 1900m on the polytrack. He won his only attempt over this C&D, three runs ago. The son of Wylie Hall loves the long turf run-in and can notch up his fifth career victory.
Race 5 - CAIRON (2)
CAIRON has won his last two starts well on this course. The manner in which he drew away from the opposition last time was impressive. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The 5yo gelding is in a good space and should notch up the hat-trick.
Race 7 - INTREPID TRAVELLER (6)
INTREPID TRAVELLER’S last three starts have been good. She cast a shoe in running last time, which didn’t help her chances. She has won four times and finished second twice from ten starts over this distance. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Warren Kennedy retains the ride and the pair can go one better today.
Race 8 - QUICK WIT (10)
QUICK WIT has shown some improvement in her last two starts with the blinkers fitted. She finished 2.1 lengths behind VIC FALLS in her penultimate effort. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She will enjoy the return to the turf and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
