Race 3 - DEMELZA (4)
DEMELZA showed very good improvement in her last start over 1000m on this course. She raced from just off the pace that day and stayed on strongly at the business end. The daughter of Rafeef will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. Luyolo Mxothwa retains the ride and she may be the one to side with.
Race 4 - IMPRESSIVE QUEEN (2)
IMPRESSIVE QUEEN ran a very good race when finishing second with the blinkers fitted last time. She was reported to be cut into that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. The daughter of Captain Of All is likely to have her own way in front once again and she may be hard to peg back.
Race 5 - TRIPPLE JET (2)
TRIPPLE JET has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He was running on well at the finish over this C&D last time, but it was a little too late. The son of Trippi meets a similar type of field today and with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle, he should return to winning ways.
Race 6 - DOUBLE CHARGE (3)
DOUBLE CHARGE finished 0.25 lengths behind BEY SUYAY last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. If keeping on a straight line, he should be hard to catch.
Race 7 - WINTER FURI (1)
WINTER FURI has good recent form lines to her credit. She finished 0.4 lengths behind CHILLY WINTER last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts on this course. The daughter of What A Winter should be the one to beat.
