Turffontein racecourse hosts a decent card today, with the first race set to go off at 10:30am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing selections for today.
Turffontein Tips - Thursday 6th February
Race 1 - NAZARE (1)
NAZARE was not disgraced when fourth against stronger over 1160m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. All three of his career victories have come on this course. He drops back in class and may be the one to side with.
Race 2 - KINSHIN SHA (9)
KINSHIN SHA finished 2.1 lengths behind LONGSWORD last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has dropped to a competitive rating and may be the one to side with.
Race 4 - TO THE RESCUE (1)
TO THE RESCUE showed good guts and determination when winning his last start over 2400m on the Vaal Classic course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight tries the 3000m for the first time. He meets a similar line-up and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can follow up with another victory.
Race 6 - LAUGHING WILLIAM (1)
LAUGHING WILLIAM was an easy winner of his last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. He set the pace and found more where it matters most. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The son of William Longsword meets a similar field today and he can follow up with another victory.
Race 7 - SOLDIER’S EYE (2)
SOLDIER’S EYE is better than her last two starts suggest. She has won twice and finished third once from five starts on this course. The daughter of Rabada has ability and if finding the form of her Listed Summer Pudding Handicap effort, it would not be a surprise to see her in the winner’s enclosure.
