Race 3 - SHEELA (1)
SHEELA is the best bet on today’s card. She was not disgraced when finishing third in the Grade 1 Allan Robertson Championship last time. She won on debut over this C&D. The daughter of The United States is loaded with ability and takes a drop in class today. She shows good speed in her races and may be hard to peg back.
Race 4 - DYCE (1)
DYCE was super-impressive when winning over 1200m last time. Despite overracing in the early stages, he won with a ton in hand. The son of William Longsword should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. He looks to have some class about him and should follow up with another victory.
Race 5 - LITIGATION (7)
LITIGATION has produced two good efforts to date, the latest of which was over this C&D. He was his own worst enemy last time as he overraced in the early stages. The son of Greys Inn looks to be a progressive type and if Lyle Hewitson is able to switch him off early, he should take a power of beating.
Race 7 - MIDNIGHT CALLER (7)
MIDNIGHT CALLER showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1600m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the horse that finished fifth that day has come out and won since. The tongue tie seems to have done the trick with the son of Twice Over and he can return to the number one box.
Race 8 - ESKIMO PIE (4)
ESKIMO PIE stayed on nicely when finishing fourth over 1400m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that Sound Of Summer has come out and won again since. He won his maiden on this course, four runs ago. The son of Var is in a good space and can return to winning ways.
