Race 2 - EASTERN BELLE (12)
EASTERN BELLE should have finished much closer in the Grade 3 Godolphin Barb Stakes last time as she was baulked for running room from the 500m mark to the 250m mark. The daughter of Global View will love the step up to the 1400m. She is back against maidens and with a bit of luck in running, should take a power of beating.
Race 4 - TRATTORIA (1)
TRATTORIA showed good signs of a form return when finishing second over this distance on the Classic course. She returns from a 10-week break which may have done her the world of good. She does not meet the strongest field and if not in need of the run, she can go one better.
Race 5 - IMPERIAL MASTER (5)
IMPERIAL MASTER’S last three starts on the Classic course have been good. He fought hard in his last outing, but found one too good in the form of Oyster King. The son of Master Of My Fate is in a good space and should be rewarded for consistency.
Race 7 - SEA VIRESCENT (9)
SEA VIRESCENT showed very good improvement in his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he hung in the latter stages. If keeping on a straight line, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 8 - SUCCESSFUL SECRE (1)
SUCCESSFUL SECRET’S last two starts have been good. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. The son of Judpot does not meet the strongest field and Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
