Ascot Market Movers - Which horses are being backed on Champions Day?

A Group Three winner out in France during the summer, GARRUS was last seen finishing just a length behind Highfield Princess when third in the Prix Maurice de Gheest. Charlie Hills has laid his sprinter out for a tilt at the Champions Sprint, and the 25/1 Garrus opened up at has long since disappeared.

Since she was confirmed in this Group One by William Haggas on Thursday, SEA LA ROSA has continued to edge towards the top of the betting. Haggas' filly captured her first Group One win in the Prix de Royalleiu during the Arc de Triomphe meeting and her victory might help Haggas snatched the Champion Trainer trophy out from under Charlie Appleby's nose.

Several runners are being backed in a typically open Balmoral, but the one who's made the most significant move is Richard Hannon's three-year-old, TACARIB BAY. Pat Dobbs' mount has finished second behind two talented runners in Tempus and Triple Time on his last two starts over a mile and Hannon has fitted first-time blinkers to try and get the best out of this talented colt.

Money has started to arrive for KINROSS on the morning of the Champions Sprint. Ralph Beckett's charge has established himself as the best in the world over seven furlongs in recent weeks and punters fancy Frankie Dettori's mount as he drops back down in trip.

Champion Fillies & Mares Stakes - Albaflora

Each-way money has come in the Fillies & Mares for ALBAFLORA, who finished second to Eshaada in this race 12 months ago. Ralph Beckett's mare has only run twice so far this season, but that hasn't stopped punters from backing Rossa Ryan's mount into a much shorter price this morning.

Balmoral Handicap - Bashkirova

After being put up by one of the best tipsters around in this morning's newspaper tips on Champions Day, BASHKIROVA has been backed into favouritism for the Balmoral. William Haggas' mare has run well in several pattern races this season, including a Group Three triumph at Epsom, and she'll make her handicap debut off a workable mark of 104.
