Once the Champion Sprinter has been crowned, the contenders in this year's Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes will take to the Ascot track. This 12-furlong contest wasn't promoted to Group One status until 2013, and since then it's been won by classy mares like Simple Verse, Journey and Magical.

Let's take a look through the latest Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes betting and run through the British Champions Day entries.

2024 Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes Entries

The hot favourite to win this year's Fillies' and Mares is Kalpana. Andrew Balding's filly travels to Ascot looking to land a hat trick, following dominant victories at Hamilton and Kempton.

With Oisin Murphy riding Lancashire Oaks winner Queen Of The Pride for Qatar Racing, William Buick has picked up the spare ride on the market leader. Along with Queen Of The Pride, John & Thady Gosden will be represented by Danielle, who hasn't been seen since an under-par performance at Newmarket's July Festival.

Sir Mark Prescott's Tiffany will enter Group One company for the first time, following an impressive triumph out in Germany. Aidan O'Brien runs Yorkshire Oaks winner Content, who steps back up in trip following a poor showing in the ten-furlong Prix de l'Opera.

O'Brien has handed further entries to Prix de Royallieu winner Grateful, Blandford Stakes runner-up Wingspan, and Ribblesdale winner Port Fairy. Dermot Weld could send Group Three winner, Sumiha over from Ireland, with Village Voice set to represent Jessica Harrington.

Billy Lougnnane and David Menuisier will team up with Epsom Oaks third War Chimes on British Champions Day. Andreas Suborics' Group Two winner, Quantanamera will have her first start on British soil. Other possible runners include Harry Charlton's Time Lock, Doha for Ralph Beckett, and William Haggas' Sea Theme.
