Day two at Glorious Goodwood is headlined by the Sussex Stakes. This famous race was first staged in 1841 and William Haggas' unbeaten star, Baaeed dominates the betting for this year's renewal.

Baaeed has extended his unbeaten record to eight this season, following effortless wins in the Lockinge and the Queen Anne Stakes. Haggas' star could face three-year-olds for the first time next Wednesday, but that hasn't stopped William Hill from listing Baaeed as their overwhelming 1/6 favourite.
Leading the charge against the market leader is defending champion, Alcohol Free, who steps back up to a mile after winning the July Cup on her most recent start. Aidan O'Brien runs Queen Anne third, Order Of Australia, while Charlie Appleby will be represented by Modern Games.
Richard Hannon's Chindit, Ralph Beckett's three-year-old Angel Bleu, and Japanese Group Two winner, Bathrat Leon complete Wednesday's field.

I'm not expecting Baaeed to suffer defeat on Wednesday. He's simply too good. The betting without Baaeed market is extremely competitive though, so that's where I'll look for my selection.
Initially, when I thought Coroebus was running, I picked out Alcohol Free as my selection. However, after Charlie Appleby's Guineas winner was ruled out, Alcohol Free suddenly finds herself as the second favourite and the 15/8 favourite in the without the favourite market, which doesn't seem like good value to me.
With Coroebus out of action, MODERN GAMES has been subbed in to take his stablemate's place. Like Coroebus, Modern is a Classic winner, having landed the French Guineas on his reappearance. William Buick's mount then ran on well from a poor draw to finish third behind Vadeni in the Prix du Jockey Club, before dropping right down to seven furlongs and finishing a close fifth in the Prix Jean Prat.
There's no doubting that Modern Games is at his best over a mile and a tight, turning track like Goodwood racecourse won't phase a horse who's won at Longchamp and the Breeders' Cup. 4/1 about Modern Games in the betting without Baaeed special market looks like a solid value bet to me!
Verdict
Baaeed won't get beaten on Wednesday. Modern Games is an interesting contender and he could finish second to the odds-on favourite. Backing William Buick's mount at 4/1 in the without Baaeed market seems like a sensible plan.
