Haydock Park stages its biggest flat card of the season in September, as the best six-furlong sprinters around battle it out in the Sprint Cup.

We're still a couple of weeks away from this year's Sprint Cup, but I've spotted some value in the ante-post market, so here are my ante-post Sprint Cup selections.

2023 Sprint Cup Ante-Post Tip - Lezoo

Shaquille has quickly become my favourite flat horse in training this season. I've backed Julie Camacho's star prior to his victories in both the Commonwealth Cup and the July Cup and I'm loath to side against the favourite as he bids for his third Cup success on the bounce.

That being said, I've had a small dabble on LEZOO at 16/1, following a welcome return to top form at Newmarket last weekend.

It's been a story of poor draws for Ralph Beckett's filly this season. Lezoo was drawn one in the 1000 Guineas, where she failed to see out a mile. In the Commonwealth Cup, Frankie Dettori's mount was slowly away from the widest stall of all and simply couldn't get involved in the contest.

On Saturday, Andrea Atzeni's mount was again drawn in stall one and Lezoo made another inauspicious start. Atzeni gave his mount time to find her stride and, despite having no cover on the outside of the field throughout, Lezoo powered her way to the front and comfortably held Emaraaty Ana at bay to land the Hopeful Stakes.

Beckett will have been delighted to see last year's Cheveley Park winner return to the winners' enclosure and he'll be eager to throw his top filly back into Group One company. As things stand, Beckett is the hottest trainer in the country and, with stablemate Kinross unlikely to take his chance, Frankie Dettori will likely take the ride on Lezoo, in what will be his final Sprint Cup

There's no way Lezoo will go off at 16/1 if she's declared for the 2023 Sprint Cup and she has the raw ability to give Shaquille a run for his money. If Ralph Beckett's filly lands a kind draw, which is yet to happen this season, then I could see Lezoo running a massive race.
