ITV Racing Tips - Friday 14th May

Race 1 - Marygate Fillies' Stakes Tips

CANONIZED was my NAP of the day when she won at Goodwood on her second start, and I thought she got the job done really well. William Haggas' filly took a sharp bump as she burst through a gap between the leader, but that didn't halt her momentum and she ran out a convincing winner.

William Haggas horses are in excellent form. As is Ryan Moore, who takes the ride on this daughter of Acclamation. I'm sure she'll step up in trip before the end of the season, but Canonized showed a nice turn of foot at Goodwood and I want to keep her on-side.

Race 2 - Oaks Farm Stables Fillies' Stakes Tips

I backed Love Is You in the Nell Gwyn on her reappearance, and thought she ran a decent race to finish third. While I think she will definitely improve for that outing and this step up in trip, SNOW LANTERN is hard to oppose.

Richard Hannon's filly finished second to the impressive Zabeel Queen on her debut at two. Snow Lantern then squared off against the well-backed Derab at Newbury on her return, but was more than a match for the favourite, winning that race with plenty left in hand.

A daughter of Frankel, and out of Sky Lantern, who won the 2013 1000 Guineas for the stable. It's clear Snow Lantern is destined for the very top.

CONCIERGE has run well since returning to turf, finishing third in very competitive races at Newmarket and Goodwood. Michael Attwater's five-year-old remains on a rating two pounds short of his last winning mark, and he can make his presence felt if getting away well from stall one.

Race 4 - Matchbook Exchange Handicap Tips

Apart from a terrible run here in the Melrose Handicap over 14 furlongs last season, FISHABLE enjoyed a really consistent first season racing. Tim Easterby's charge won twice at Ripon, finished a close second to Marronnier here in October and placed third over a mile-and-a-half in a handicap on Vertem Trophy day at Doncaster.

On his reappearance, Fishable sweated up noticeably and was very keen in the early stages. Zabeel Champion and Mascat eventually swept past to fight out the finish, but David Allen's mount stayed on well to place fourth, and shaped like he'd really improve for the outing.

Race 5 - Yorkshire Cup Tips

Sir Ron Priestley goes for his second Group Two on the bounce and he'll be hard to pass. The favourite does, however, have to give three pounds to both Nayef Road and SANTIAGO, and I fancy Aidan O'Brien's raider is the one to back.

Last year's Irish Derby winner and St Leger fourth disappointed when only fourth on his reappearance at Navan. However, that run came at a time when O'Brien's runners were struggling. The stable is in much better form now and Santiago is sure to come on for the run.

Race 6 - Jigsaw Handicap Tips

17 of the 20 runners in Friday's final ITV race are separated by just seven pounds, and the bookies are going 5/1 the field. There's clearly very little to split any of the 20 runners. This really is the definition of a "stick a pin in it" race.

Three of GET KNOTTED'S six career wins have come over course-and-distance, so Michael Dods' nine-year-old clearly loves the Knavesmire. Clifford Lee's mount hasn't won since October 2019, but that has allowed Get Knotted to drop down to a generous mark, and Dods' star shaped well when fourth on his reappearance. This won't be a big betting race for me, but Get Knotted does hold appeal.
