One of the most important Group One races of the season takes place at Newbury on Saturday, as many of the best milers in the sport battle it out in the Lockinge Stakes. This lucrative contest was first held at Newbury in 1958 and the betting for this year's contest is dominated by an unbeaten William Haggas runner.
We've taken a look through the latest Lockinge Stakes betting and picked out our best betting tips.

2022 Lockinge Stakes Entries
Baaeed only made his racecourse debut as a three-year-old in June of last year. Six successive victories, including wins in the Prix du Moulin and the QEII Stakes, helped Haggas' star reach a rating of 125 and Baaeed is long odds-on to win Saturday's Lockinge.
Aidan O'Brien's former 1000 Guineas winner, Mother Earth sits second in the betting. Fellow Group One-winning filly, Alcohol Free sits prominently in the market, just behind Saeed bin Suroor's five-year-old, Real World.
Frankie Dettori will ride Sunray Major for John Gosden, with Pat Dobbs confirmed to ride Richard Hannon's Chindit. Hannon will also throw lightly-raced four-year-old, Etonian into his first Group One.
New Mandate held off Sir Busker to win the Paradise Stakes on his reappearance, and both will take up their entries in Saturday's main event at Newbury.

Baaeed is the one to beat in the mile division this season, much like last year's Lockinge winner, Palace Pier. If Baaeed is at the peak of his powers, he'll take plenty of beating on Saturday. Yet, William Haggas hasn't been particularly bullish in the build-up and the favourite offers little to no value at his current price.
Another aspect of this race which could pose a problem for Baaeed is the way it's likely to be run. Jim Crowley's mount relished being held up behind a fast early pace. Baaeed did his best work on the bridle, and didn't really need to produce a turn of foot to win any of his races.
Looking through the field that he faces on Saturday, there's no clear pace angle. All of the runners have done their best work when coming from off the pace.
Baaeed has been drawn up in stall three, with Alcohol Free and Mother Earth on either side. Generally, over a mile at Newbury, the field tends to stay down the center or drift down towards the stand's rail. If they did come stand's side, then those drawn high could be inconvenienced, especially if they're held up behind a slow early pace.
The more I look at this race, the more it seems like an excellent opportunity for Danny Tudhope to shine aboard REAL WORLD, who's been drawn nicely up in stall eight.
Saaeed bin Suroor's star burst onto the scene last year with a stunning front-running success in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot. Real World was then happy to take a lead in the Steventon Stakes, Strensall Stakes and the Prix Daniel Wildstern, displaying a smart turn-of-foot to beat classy fields in all three of those pattern races.
Tudhope was in the saddle when Real World thrashed his rivals to win the Group Two Zabeel Mile out in Meydan in January. Bin Suroor then switched his five-year-old to dirt for both the Saudi Cup and the Dubai World Cup, but Real World failed to get involved in either of those races after failing to break quickly.
Returning to fast turf is a big plus for Real World, who produced one of the best performances of his career over ten furlongs here at Newbury. Tudhope may find himself with an uncontested lead in this year's Lockinge and Real World has proven on several occasions that he possesses a potent turn of foot, either over a mile or ten furlongs.
Verdict
Real World is one of the best milers in the sport. Danny Tudhope's mount will be fit after three runs during the Dubai World Cup Carnival and could be allowed to dictate the pace of the race from stall eight. Baaeed is a fearsome foe, but I'll be backing Real World to cause an upset.
