The winners an automatic entry into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint, but the form out of the race can often be seen in the 2000 Guineas the following year.

Three jockeys have incredibly won the race on six occasions. Danny Maher, Sir Gordon Richards and Lester Piggott have all scored six wins in the Middle Park Stakes.

There is a host of trainers with four winners to their names, but Aidan O'Brien has trained five winners to top the list.

His most recent win came in 2017 with US Navy Flag.

Middle Park Stakes betting guide

There has been a good mix of favourites and long shots win the Middle Park Stakes.

Shalaa scored at short odds in 2015, but two double-figure chances have scored since then. The Last Lion paid 25/1 in 2016 and it was followed up by US Navy Flag at 10/1 in 2017.

Recent winners that have paid double-figure odds include Charming Thought (22/1) and Crusade (25/1).

Five of the last 12 winners were either favourite or joint favourite, but the Middle Park Stakes is definitely a race for the each way punters.

Of those favourites to win, only one paid less than even money and even the highly-regarded Bushranger paid 15/8 with bookmakers.

Middle Park Stakes trends

Winning form is key as 10 of the last 12 winners have won at their most recent start.

Only three of those 12 had previously won at Newmarket, so winning form on this track isn't needed.

Form over the sprinting distances is key, however, as all 12 winners have won over six furlongs during their two-year-old career.

Only six of the 12 most recent winners were rated 105 or higher, with 2014 winner Charming Thought rated at only 98.
