2018 Ascot Gold Cup Result
7/4 joint-favourite Stradivarius was too good for his opposition when winning the 2018 Ascot Gold Cup, scoring by three-quarters-of-a-length over Vazirabad and New Zealand-owned Torcedor.
Winning jockey Frankie Dettori sat just off the speed before producing the talented stayer over the final two furlongs. Stradivarius then sprinted well and when Vazirabad made a run at him, he stretched out his neck to score a famous victory.
Order Of St George finished in fourth but never looked likely after being pushed along from the outset.
