2021 Royal Ascot Day Three Tips

Race 1 - Norfolk Stakes Tips

Instinctive Move E/W2:30pm Norfolk Stakes (Group 2) 5fGET 10/1 HERE
18+ only. Ts and Cs apply. Gamble responsibly.

Clive Cox and Adam Kirby teamed up to win the 2012 Norfolk with Reckless Abandon, and in INSTINCTIVE MOVE they look to have another live contender.

This son of top sire Showcasing scored on debut at Bath, comfortably beating a horse who had finished a very close third behind Tuesday's Coventry Stakes winner, Berkshire Shadow on his previous start. Instinctive Move was well on top as he crossed the line at Bath and he looks a likely improver. 10/1 seems like excellent value.

Race 2 - Hampton Court Stakes Tips

It's hard to shy away from MOHAAFETH, who sat prominently in the ante-post betting for the Epsom Derby until he was withdrawn when the ground turned soft. William Haggas' budding star swept Secret Protector aside when they clashed in the Newmarket Stakes, clocking a fantastic RPR of 117. He'll clearly take all the beating.

Race 3 - Ribblesdale Stakes Tips

Aristia E/W3:40pm Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2) 1m4fGET 33/1 HERE

I'm a big fan of Noon Star, and I wouldn't be surprised to see her get the win. Divinely cannot be ruled out either, but I'm going to take a risky each-way punt on Hollie Doyle's mount, ARISTIA.

Despite looking very green and shying away from the whip, Richard Hannon's filly flew home from the rear to win on debut at Newbury. Aristia then finished a two-length third behind Eshaada and Gloria Mundi, where she still looked green and couldn't find that change of gear on softer ground.

Quicker going should suit this daughter of Starspangledbanner and there's plenty of stamina in the dam's side of her breeding. 33/1 is too tempting to pass up.

Race 5 - Britannia Stakes Tips

Dubai Honour E/W5:00pm Britannia Stakes (Heritage Handicap) 1mGET 22/1 HERE

DUBAI HONOUR was my selection at York on his final two-year-old start, but Danny Tudhope found himself stuck in traffic on the inside rail and couldn't finish any better than fourth. On his previous start, William Haggas' charge had comfortably beaten two horses now rated in the high 80s at Haydock, and he could run a massive race on his seasonal reappearance.

Gioia Cieca E/W5:00pm Britannia Stakes (Heritage Handicap) 1mGET 50/1 HERE
+18 only. Gamble Responsibly. Ts and Cs apply. Ladbrokes is operated by LC International Limited (Suite 6, Atlantic Suites, Gibraltar) and licensed (ref 54743) and regulated by the British Gambling Commission for persons gambling in Great Britain. For persons gambling outside Great Britain, Ladbrokes is licensed (ref 010, 012) by the Government of Gibraltar and regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner.

I'm also going to take a punt on GIOIA CIECA, who's been drawn very kindly down in stall 23. Keith Dalgleish's charge was last seen finishing a two-length third behind Apollo One, Megallan and El Drama in the Spring Cup at Lingfield. That was an excellent effort in an extremely hot Listed race, and this son of Kitten's Joy has the potential to outrun his odds.

Race 6 - King George V Stakes Tips

Surefire E/W5:35pm King George V Stakes (Handicap) 1m4fGET 9/1 HERE
18+ only. Ts and Cs apply. Gamble responsibly.

Another huge field to sift through, but the one I'm really keen on is SUREFIRE for Hector Crouch and Ralph Beckett. Surefire built on some really promising performances with a fine victory at Leicester ten days ago, where Crouch's mount powered home in the closing stages after looking a little outpaced half a mile out.

Surefire carries a six-pound penalty for that success, but Beckett's colt is due to go up to 91 after this, so he's three pounds well-in at the weights. This Fastnet Rock colt is out of a high-quality mare in Modesta, and it's safe to say there could be plenty of improvement left in his locker.

Race 7 - Buckingham Palace Stakes Tips

LORD RAPSCALLION was rated 102 when he arrived at Stuart Williams' yard last season, and placed fourth behind Kinross on his stable debut in Listed company. Eight defeats since then have seen Williams' recruit drop down to a mark of 92 and top conditional Marco Ghiani - who rode the Royal Hunt Cup winner yesterday - takes three extra pounds off his back. He could challenge in this wide-open race.

Magical Wish E/W6:10pm Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap) 7fGET 50/1 HERE
New customers only. 18+ T&Cs and wagering requirements apply.

As could MAGICAL WISH, who'll also feel the benefit of a claimer, after Richard Hannon booked Liam Browne to take the ride. Magical Wish was rated 95 when he made all to win a seven-furlong handicap at Doncaster at the end of August. Hannon's five-year-old has dropped down to an official rating of 92, and a quick scan through his results will tell you that Magical Wish does his best work on quick ground.
