The final Classic of the season takes place this weekend as a field of classy three-year-olds do battle in the St Leger. This most famous of flat races was first staged at Doncaster back in 1776 and nine talented three-year-olds will battle it out in Saturday's renewal.
The 2022 St Leger has been moved back to Sunday, September 11th, following the death of her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.

Hurricane Lane scored a superb victory in the St Leger 12 months ago, and New London is odds-on to follow in his stablemate's footsteps. Appleby's colt claimed his third win of the season in the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and bet365 list New London as their even-money favourite.
Royal Ascot winner, Eldar Eldarov sits closest to New London in the betting. Gordon Stakes third, Hoo Ya Mal could also run in the St Leger before travelling to Australia for a tilt at the Melbourne Cup.
Ralph Beckett has stumped up the supplementary fee for unbeaten Galtres Stakes winner, Haskoy to run in Saturday's Classic, where she'll be ridden by Frankie Dettori. Ireland will be represented by Paddy Twomey's French Claim and Aidan O'Brien's Emily Dickinson.

Marco Botti's Giavellotto, El Habeed for Kevin Phillipart de Foyand Ivan Furtado's Lizzie Jean - rated just 78 - round off the entries.

New London is undoubtedly exciting, but there's little point in backing him at even money. The form of Eldar Eldarov's win at Royal Ascot is questionable and he hardly advertised it with that fourth-place finish out in France.
Hoo Ya Mal is the highest-rated in the field, but was no match for the favourite when they met at Glorious Goodwood. Neither of the Irish runners whets my appetite and the rest of the field are handicappers at best.
The only runner I really want to back here is Ralph Beckett's unbeaten filly, HASKOY. Beckett and owners, Juddmonte Stud decided to supplement this daughter of Golden Horn into this mediocre St Leger last weekend and that could prove to be an extremely shrewd move come 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon.
Haskoy made a lasting impression when winning on debut at Wolverhampton in July. Hector Crouch's mount thrashed several more experienced rivals by seven lengths, seeing out 12 furlongs extremely well on her first start under rules.
Beckett's filly was then slowly away in the Galtres Stakes and Ryan Moore was already scrubbing her along coming out of the bend. As the field drifted towards the centre of the track, Moore decided to plough a lone furrow along the rail. Haskoy soon began to eat up the ground, reeling in fellow Juddmonte flagbearer Time Lock in the dying strides to snatch an unlikely victory.
I was incredibly impressed with that performance and I'm sure Haskoy will have learnt plenty from that experience. Beckett, who's no stranger to winning Classics with fillies, wouldn't have supplemented his budding star if he didn't feel she was ready and this looks like an excellent opportunity to win British racing's oldest Classic.
Verdict
It could pay to back Haskoy, the most unexposed runner in the field, in this year's St Leger and there's just enough value in her price to make an each-way punt profitable.
